Watched Other Clubs?

in the early 70s used to travel on yelloway coaches city home one week

and burnley next.

Ahh the memories.
My 1st ever away game was Turf Moor.
Yelloway coach from Middleton.
I used to get taken to Oldham by a fave Uncle
I'm still fond of them but nothing like my love for City.
Maine Rd was home. When there i was complete.

Seeeeeeeaaaaattttleee. Soooooooooooooounders. haha

We actually sell out the lower bowl of quest field for games. Great soccer fans in the Northwest (Seattle and Portland). It was painful to watch Man U put 6 goals on the Sounders. And not because I love the sounders.

I usually go to a game a season at boundary park. I grew up, not in oldham, but up that way. I'd recommend it to anyone, especially amongst our youngsters. A chance to taste a different side of life (meant figuratively, but their pies are fucking brilliant!), and remember that city played league games there only a dozen years ago.

ive had a season ticket at darlington since i moved up here in 1995, watch darlo when city are away.

watching darlo makes you realise that citys plight is never quite as bad as it seems.

last season was particularly good, watching city and darlo both winning cup finals at wembley in the space of a week!

I used to go to Stockport County quite often when it was Friday nights and I was about 10. Just a short hop on the bus from Gorton.

Later I went to Bury a few times, and some mates and I toured the local grounds, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Bolton. I went to Bolton once on my own (a long while back, BFS was a player) and to Oldham a couple of times.

Back in the 70s football was affordable and it was not big deal to pay in at another ground. As I got older I tended to go to City away more, and the visiting other grounds thing declined sharply.

i was signed on as a schoolboy for oldham athletic between 85-90 and used to get two free tickets for every home game,my cousin was playing in the first team and when city wasn`t at home me and my old fella would go and watch oldham..

I used to have a season ticket at Windsor Park and would attend home and away games when I wasnt heading over to Maine Road, would still go to the odd game when City are playing on a Sunday, and one of the lads in our supporters clubs tries to get to another game on the saturday if the City game is moved to the sunday, if fact he went to Upton Park for the chelsea west ham game a few years ago before getting the train out to Vicarage Road when we played their on the Sunday Evening.
