Are there any decent places to watch football in town or what? The only places I can think of with big screens is the Footage on Oxford Road and that ain't exactly great. Spent a lot of the last world cup in the sports bar but dunno where to spend this one? There must be somewhere in the City Centre with big High Def screens now, surely?

Watched the game in Walkabout on Saturday, they've got a huge screen, and loads of tellies around the bars and stuff so if you're at the bar or something, you can still see the game.

As with every major football tournament, I'll be doing a reccy around the City Centre to find some decent boozers showing the World Cup.

Big TV's, comfy seats, cheap beer, decent food, efficient bar staff & no dickheads. Should be some good offers on this year.

Best pubs for a laugh and atmosphere before a home game?

No mate I know there's pelnty places for that sort of stuff. I'm talking about places with the type of stuff Blue Punter mentioned:

The Seven Oaks neat China Town. Big pull down screen & no Knobheads.

Watched a few games in there, and start and end our race trips in the Sevenoaks. Gets a bit cramped for me.

The toilet stairs become a bit of a mission after a few jars as well!

You're joking, right?

The biggest dirtiest red pub in the entire city centre.

So much in fact, they have United scarves on the wall, to go with the Glazer campaign shit.

Wankers.

Stay out of town, that's where the RAG tourists go.

The only City pubs I know, if they are still there, are the old Brunswick and The Waldorf across the road, up by Piccadilly.

Otherwise, has to be The Friendship in Fallowfield, BarBibo in Northenden (big City hangout) most pubs in Didsbury and the Red Lion in Withington.

Is the projector in Varsity(Oxford Rd) HD? Either that or it's a high spec standard definition picture.

Footage is where I go occasionally if I need to go into town.
