I could really do with some help contacting staff at Waterstones who can help get Manchester Corinthians: The Authorised History stocked. The book is about a group of Manc women who toured the world playing football when the FA ban on women’s football was in force.

They won many trophies, toured with Trautmann and played in front of 50000 at times in South America, Portugal and elsewhere.

Waterstones have 2 copies (tucked away in local history) of the book at Deansgate but they’ve done this (see image) for a book on Busby (yes, I know his story will sell but promoting a high quality book on women’s football that is truly local would work too).

Arndale Waterstones has no books at all on women’s football and I’m convinced getting the book visible would work for them.

I used to know the buyers etc but staff have changed and relationships are often important, so if anyone knows anyone there I’d really appreciate an introduction. Details on my Corinthians book here:

Thanks.

Gary you could also ask if anyone works in town and....... on their dinner break nip down to Waterstones, find the 2 books and put them on top of the Busby ones.

It's a real Bertie thing to do and I'm sure would appeal to a lot of us.
Since stopping drinking this is my only hobby nowadays, Always make a point to pop into the local waterstones where ever I am and do this. When I visit the in-laws in Bournemouth I check the sports section if they don't have any City books on the shelf I always ask the the staff if they have any City related books in hope they they will stock them.

It’s more that the quantity is low. People will always find the Utd or City books but the Corinthians book is more of a ‘browsing’ purchase. People need to see it because they won’t go into a shop and think ‘I wonder if there are any new books on the Corinthians?’ In the way they might about City & Utd.
