Watford (A) - Post-Match Thread

I’ll pick out the negatives.

Laporte is nothing on Stones, weak link.

Sterling so so frustrating, very greedy tonight and yes he scored but my dead granny could have bagged that. But gets into so many dangerous positions, drives me batty.
Gundogan ring any bells ?

Fantastic first hour, controlled the game from the start. Should really have been 3 or 4-0 at half time. Grealish had a very good game, bar his finishing. Sterling roasted Danny Rose. Bernardo despite not being as involved as usual, produced two class finishes. We let them back in the game due to the substitutions. We lost the energy of Grealish & Foden. We also lost our shape by shifting Sterling to the left to accommodate Mahrez. This let them back in to it. All in all, a good 3 points, minutes for KDB and top of the shop once again. Our next four games include 3 at home… Time to hit our Winter streak.

As simple a win as we will ever have

My criticism is that when it is easy we get sloppy
If we'd played with anywhere near the same concentration level as we did vs PSG the other week, Watford really wouldn't have got a kick of the ball
And I know Pep said it's all about the performance and not the number of goals scored, but that was a real chance to catch Liverpool up on GD
It is important to stick the ball in the net in comfortable matches, especially for players such as Grealish, because when it comes to a tight game and the ball drops to Grealish, we don't want him doubting himself

Still, we are top of the league

I get told about Summerbee, Bell, Lee. Denis Law's goal against United! By my Dad.

I had to suffer Nicky Summerbee, Alan Kernaghan and David Brightwell with the highlights being the Kinky, the Goat, (always had a soft spot for Andy Morrison). I could probably name a bazillion next big things that played for us that maybe reached 5 starts and 10 sub appearances before they disappeared again!

Of course George Weah played for us for a moment in time :D Does anyone remember Kakhaber Tskhadadze (I did have to google spelling).

I don't have children but it will be impossible to explain the pain of driving up with your Dad from Cornwall to use your Season ticket game after game, year after year to maybe win a game a couple of times a season!
Great Post mate and yes I remember Gio's compatriot Kakhaber Tskhadadze, there was also another Georgian, he was bald and his name possible started with an S and ended with dze....hahaha.

Kavalashvili

I think he may have even scored for us!
