Watford (a) post-match

By the way, can anyone argue that this isn't the best City team of all time?

6 games into last season we'd scored 17 and conceded 4.
6 games into this season we've scored 20 and conceded 2, against better opposition too.

just got back. another great trip and a brilliant performance. gone are the days of pubbing it afterwards, had early tea and off to bed. nice lazy drive back today. more please :)

Not being able to stream I followed the game on BM and Manchester radio. From both sources there was some criticism of Sterling, very strong criticism from a few BlueMooners. I then watched the full game at 8:30 on Sky and couldn't see why Sterling was being picked out. As a team we played brilliantly, Sterling made a few errors but when you watch the game clinically most of the players had a couple of moments that were not their best. A poor pass or control, questionable decisions, missed opportunities etc. Sterling like all the others had some very positive effects on play but it seems some of us only see his negatives and quickly forgive others the same errors.
Was a bloke behind me in the ground, all he did all game was criticise Sterling, 'gerrimoff', 'put Bernardo on for him', etc. etc. it was beyond a joke when he joined in with the 'Raheem Sterling, he's top of the league' songs.

One of our best performances since the takeover. The control and positional play was another level, it seems like everyone has grasped what Pep wants, and when you've got the likes of Danilo, Sane, Bernardo, Gundogan on the bench and Kompany and Yaya to come back you can see how well positioned we actually are.

After that performance I wonder how many will make it into Crooks team of the week? (Not that I give a toss...)

I listened to the match on gmr. I later watched the full game on reddit.
Watford surprised me, i expected a team without fight, and very little to take out of the match. They were organised and tried to make a game of it, moreso than l'pool i thought. City were every bit as good as they seemed on the radio, were a bit lucky not to have someone badly hurt especially KdB, the tackle on him was full of malice, should have been a red no question.

One further thought. This was our starting line up on Saturday:

Ederson, Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Mendy, De Bruyne, Fernandinho, D Silva, Sterling, Aguero, Jesus

Perhaps unsurprisingly given that we have scored 20 goals in 6 games this season, but every single one of those players bar the goalkeeper has either a goal or an assist to their credit so far this season.

Aguero has 6 goals and 2 assists
Sterling has 3 goals
Jesus has 5 goals
Stones has 2 goals
Otamendi has a goal
De Bruyne has 4 assists
Silva has 5 assists
Fernandinho has an assist
Walker has 3 assists
Mendy has 2 assists

And For good measure, Sane has 2 goals and (arguably) an assist, Danilo has one assist (arguably two) and we have an own goal to call upon.

If pep wanted goals to come from every area of the pitch, that is exactly what he has got.
