Watford post-match

Ben Foster on #MCIWAT: “It was absolutely no fun. As a goalie, coming here in the first place, it’s almost an achievement to keep it at one or two goals. Like all the best laid plans, after 50 seconds, it went straight out of the window, and it was carnage..."

“To go 5-0 down after less than 20 minutes, I was thinking ‘God, this could be double digits’. I was over the moon to get in at 5-0 at half-time. It could have been a cricket score. They’re without doubt the best team I’ve ever faced.”

“There will be a nine or 10 out there soon. What makes them so devastating? Their aggression, they are always on it, always on the front foot. Nobody gets a second to think about it..."

"Our players are getting the ball passed to them, and before they know what to do with it, they’ve got a Man City player attacking them. They all do it together. Their shape is incredible. They’re all absolute specimens of men..."

"If you look at them, they’re all the same sort of build, not the tallest, but they are all so strong and rapid. Their acceleration and touch is incredible.”

Fair play to Foster, said it as it was. Refreshing to receive a compliment from a fellow professional.. No bitterness just a honest assessment..

I don't know if he posts on here, or even reads, but I met a chap at Milton Keynes station on his way to the match, had very recently arrived from New Zealand, said it was his first live game for 30 years (where were you when we were shit ;-) ), I hope you had a top day out sir, I know you expected us to win, but in your wildest dreams I doubt it was 8-0.

We were awesome for the first 25mins, but why did we slacken of the pace after the 5th goal. We should have had at least another 2 before half-time. The 2nd half performance was not as good as the 1st.. Once again missed chances to score more. Most of the commentators were saying that w should have scored 11/12 goals due to missed chances. However I will settle for 8.
