Had my reservations about him after last season's indifferent form, but I reckon that the last 5 months of last season are the best thing to have happened to him. He was benched for the majority of his Chelsea time, so to suddenly be thrown into the first team at another side was going to take a certain toll on him.

This season already he looks so much stronger, fitter and sharper, and his defending has been aggressive and solid. He gets forward to good effect and he basically looks much more the part this season so far. Bgger tests to come obviously, but so far I'm loving his contribution to the team this season.

Similar to SWP in a way, because of a lack of first team football he didn't always look the sharpest, but a few months of first team football and a good pre-season seems to have done him the power of good.

said this about the lad last week, now he's fit you can see the difference and he's had 3 very good games now, i like the lad and i think attacking wise he's brilliant, he's got a good left foot on him and can whip a ball in, he's never afraid of pushing forward, and with robbie on the bench he can bomb on and he knows he has the fredom to do it and he can show us a little more of himself along with it.

Same as above, thought he had a lot to prove when he came to us, started with sloppy passing etc, but so far this season, he has been very good going forward, still a bit sloppy in some defensive areas but getting better.

Capello was at the game, hopefully watching him just as much as he was Lescott, SWP and Barry.

I had my reservations after last season, but thought that was more about getting him right for this season than anything else.

Have been pleased with his start to the season so far.

Really impressed with how he has up'd his game this season but i just wish he would realise he has a right foot as well at times.

Isn't it amazing how a player can play slightly below par for a period of time, but then turn out to not actually be a pile of dogshit?

Questioning poor performances, fine, but i think some people are too quick to get on players backs, it's like any excuse to have a go at players in our team. You'd think people would learn from examples like Ireland. Poor form doesn't mean shit player needing replaced.

think bridge is lookin good so far this sason but noticed in todays game just how one-footd he actually is always tries to put it onto his left and never passes with his right when its a much easier option

All this from a left back, who'd have thunk it.

What, like losing Nugent and giving him their only clear chance of the game?
Exactly

Ahahaha!! So now Zabs is sh*t because of one error? How many countless 'errors' has Bridge subjected us to, since he's been here? Bridge has been pulled out of the sh*t so many times, it's laughable! What about when he was so determined to keep the ball in play, he gave Pompey a chance to score?? Yet Zabs is guilty for his error!

Zabs put quality balls in to our front players on a few occasions. We could have done with that type of insight, earlier. Bridge... Remind me what he did again? Oh yeah, huffed and puffed, but I can't remember a decent cross!

There are none so blind that will not see!

Oh my lord what an overreaction!

Bridge didn't gift Pompey their only chance. Zab did. Am I saying Zab is shit? No of course not! It was a response to a totally unfounded comment that Zab did more in the time he was on than Bridge did!

Bridge is getting better with every game, looking stronger, fitter and more aggressive than last season, it has been without any doubt a promising start to the season from him. Whoever cannot see this, seriously what do people expect?

He's an excellent pro, and I think he's getting better and better. I'd like to see him go past defenders on the outside more.

Bridge has improved this season but he should never have let Utaka get that shot in near the end that just went wide. Picky I know but it could have cost us 2 points.

Ok, who was it he slid the ball back in play for, when he could have just let it go out??!! Madness! Calamity worthy of the Old City(never mind the crazy scissors tackle on the talented palace lad!)! And Lancs reminded me of the Utaka effort! So why are you calling out Zabs when Bridge was as bad, then, going from your reasoning?!

Zabs put, at least, two quality balls into the wing for us. I can't remember Bridge doing that... But, of course, he's had all this season's games to 'improve' whereas Zabs hasn't. If we had the opportunity to bring Marcelo from Real, you wouldn't have him over Bridge??

He's average, end of!
