Wayne Bridge

Yep, Bridge and Santa Cruz's contracts finally finished this summer. Will be glad to see the back of them both, and happy they are off the city books now.

Bridge had a number of chances to move to other clubs. I remember Mancini saying that Celtic had put in a bid for him but he had refused to go because he didnt want a pay cut. Complete idiot in my opinion, could have gone and won some trophies but stayed where he wasnt wanted to get more money.

I don't think I've ever seen a more one footed professional footballer than Bridge (maybe Arjen Robben). When he got the ball at left back, the second he cut in across the pitch you knew the ball was going sideways or backwards, he was simply incapable of using his right foot! Still, he's banging Frankie from The Saturdays so I doubt he gives a shit.

No way pal! - I just know that Una would be absolute filth, where as with Frankie I get the impression she wouldn't have a clue what she's doing..

And he was signed by none other than Mark 'the clueless one' Hughes no less. Amazingly some people on here still reckon he did a good job for us!

They are slowly being collected up by the men in white coats!

On the topic of that prick, what's he going to do at Stoke, as unlike at City & QPR he isn't able to sign shit players and pay them stupid money on long contracts is he? - So what's he gonna do then?

Fulham. Ask lots of questions of the opposition, and occasionally get an answer you like. Grind out reasonable results with a reasonable team and finish respectably. I find it hard to judge Hughes too much. Put me in front of a hosepipe of unlimited cash, and tell me that the more I spray about, the more that ends up in my own pocket, and I'd spray about a lot of cash.

I don't blame him. He was never going to make it at the top so why not take the dosh? I was in his box at City recently. Now used by the club for hospitality. I suppose it was empty once he moved on

I've been in that box a few times and very nice it was too

You have to remember, playing football for a professional is a Job.

If someone came to you and said we would like you to work harder for a different company in an environment that's not as good as this, in a part of the country you don't want to live and take a 50% pay cut, what would you say?

This is probably the thought process when being asked to move from City to somewhere like Celtic ( a couple of years ago.)

That decision was the exact opposite of what an idiot would do.

You really expected him to not only move to Glasgow but also take a huge financial hit by doing so? City gave him that contract and he had every right to collect the full amount due to him as a result of it.
