Absolutely massive, even bigger though were the Dave Clark five, I'm sure
I read they were bigger than the Beatles at one time.

Beatles had the top 5 places on the US charts at same time. Imagine that.

Yes, I agree, but the DC5 went to the states before them, sold over £100 million records,
and made the most Ed Sullivan appearances, so maybe not quite as big,
but very big indeed in the States.
