We are owned by Sheikh Mansour not ADUG.

ADUG owns City, Sheikh Mansour is the only shareholder in ADUG..
It says in the club accounts that he "controls" it. That implies a shareholding greater than 50% but less than 100%.

Well, yes..but how it looks within the family accounts we have no idea. It was stated at the takeover that he owned 100% of ADUG, on the other hand having people putting money in and in turn being entitled to a share of eventual profits are common in the gulf and something of a cornerstone for things like Islamic banking which don´t allow interest charges.

It´s somehow academic though, if some of his brother are chipping in or not I mean.

-- Thu Jun 21, 2012 10:53 pm --

It was Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan..Minister of higher education and something of a character, big in Pakistan banks.
Sprig fellow that you somehow expect to be sipping sherry constantly, member of the old guard that was in power under the late Emir.

Surely the whole family are in on it...i mean its all about promoting Abu Dhabi as a tourist/business destination...i reckon mansour is just the "Face" of it

Not the whole family, but if the crownprince (the guy in red in that pic when they had cake after the game) have given this project his blessing (and he obviously have) the others will follow the party line.

Within the Al-Nahyan family the Emir himself is more or less the legal authority while the crownprince is the executive power.

Statements from the club implies 100%..

"Manchester City can confirm that a transaction involving 10% of the shares of Manchester City Football Club Limited has been completed."

The Statement continued: "The 10per cent of shares, previously owned by Worldwide Investments Limited has now been transferred to ADUG, the wholly owned company of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for an undisclosed sum. As a result of the transaction Manchester City Football Club is now 100 per cent owned by His Highness Sheikh Mansour."

In a practical sense, we are...City are becoming important in UAE, not only to the Al-Nahyans or Abu Dhabi but as a source of pride for the whole country and beyond.
