0-4 Bayern 30 mins gone

Shows just how shit our performance against Roma was.
Depressing isnt it

Just because Team A beats Team B, and Team B beats Team C, doesn't necessarily mean Team A beats Team C.

Personally, as the poster above us says, Joe kept us in it at Bayern, however, as a team we weren't bad at all, certainly wouldn't be getting hammered like Roma are now. Against Roma a couple of weeks ago, Pellers got our tactics wrong, Roma had WAY to much space to pick passes in the midfield area 3/4 on 2 (one of our two was Yaya who is notorious for being overrun).

Against Bayern however, Pellers (or Ruben), got our tactics pretty much spot on, we just needed that extra bit of class which will hopefully be addressed this summer. Beat Moscow at home, play a hopefully weakens Bayern side due to their qualification, and have good tactics and morale vs Roma, and with a bit of luck and a fair official, we progress. To get Barca or Real next round ;)

Hard to get too excited, to be honest.
1. Cast your minds back a couple of hours and remember our second half (non) display in Moscow.
2. We still have to play Bayern, who are destroying a side we struggled badly against.
I agree .
So what if Bayern are thrashing Roma .
Looking at tonight match we won't beat either Roma or Bayern Munich .
We might just get in that Europa league.

But Jim, god knows why I'm defending the team, we could argue that it puts our performance against BM into perspective.... or maybe not?
You could also say it puts our display against Roma in perspective.

Yep, I'm a glass half empty kind of guy!
You like all of us over 35's have been conditioned and have not yet completed the sanitisation programme.

Or

1. We were cheated out of a 2-1 victory away from home on a freezing night in Russia

2. We were 1 minute from drawing the former European champions away from home.

My glass is half full ;-)

*edit: and bundesliga champions!

So you are saying because we we drew 1-1 against Rome we will be 5-0 down to Munich ? I thought we lost in Munich by only one goal !

Thanks to Hart!

Gay Meadow and the Shay badly traumatised a young teenager (as opposed to an old one?) in the late seventies. It's not easy getting used to us not being shit any more.

I'm giving us more chance to beat Bayern than Roma.

Bayern will secure first place and will rest some players and be less interested just as they were in both times we managed to beat them.

Forget it, rather finish bottom than face the prospect of being in the Europa league. Should've got the win today...our own fault.

I agree mate, we are far from poor in Europe. Bayern just given a penalty for the same Roma defender doing the exact same thing he did against us. Difference is, we didn't get a pen. It's absolutely blatant nothing to do with making excuses.
