Over the past few seasons as we have become stronger as a team there has been less and less of those 'Typical City' moments. Right now I really don't fear any other club domestically. Bring on United, Chelsea or whomever because we are as strong if not stronger than all of our opponents. Yes we won't beat these teams every time we play them but of course there will be times when we do and no doubt we will win more trophies and lose more trophies over the next 10/20 years but the main thing is we will now be competing at this level for the foreseeable future. Instead of fearing these teams I now relish the prospect as do i'm sure our players. They are big game players, winners both mentally and physically and this recent FA Cup run against the lower league clubs, Watford, Leeds and Barnsley with no disrespect to any of them the gulf in class has been enormous. Never once did I feel a cup upset was on the cards and although we will continue to improve the squad and players will come and go Im convinced the 'typical City' tag and performances are a thing of the past. We're going to be competing with United for many years to come, I was hoping for a potential cup final derby but for now that will have to wait as surely one day soon it's got to happen.

I too thought we'd get the rags in the final as there has been a progression in the importance of derbys recent years.

-CC semi-final then
-FA Cup semi-final then
-home derby with league on the line

Surely thought Cup final would have been this year, and a meeting in Europe soon to come

Did you watch the southampton game?

Fair point delete the thread haha

Lol that game was typical city at its best.

No matter who wears the shirt, there will always be a return of typical city.

Yes it was indeed but they are becoming more rare and I suppose every team has an off game which isn't really classed as a typical letdown moment and I suppose thats what I was getting at.

I agree with the OP but he did kiss me on my Bald bonce in "The Waldolf" for good luck an hour before the QPR game !!

Was there ever anything more typical City than Kun's Goal??

If the gist of the post is that we are here, and we are here to stay then I am in total agreement with him.

So I did lol and i'll do it again if it brings the same result this season.

Yes the point is we are here to stay, the ten year project or whatever is currently ahead of schedule and we are going nowhere. So the point is tonight I sat watching the draw really not feeling my stomach turning over (unlike my daughter) at the thought of getting the Rags again. Bring it on there's going to be many more and we'll win some and we'll lose some but it's now going to be a regular feature of our football calendar.
