We have become very 'Untypical City'

i agree with the op, we are nothing like the city of old. we will go into the semi final whoever we play knowing we can win. no hoping, wishing pleading for a win, knowing we can win.

and the best thing any of our opponants know we can.

we are not going in to this with a 35 year old monkey on our backs, in 2011 the tension and then sense of relief was at times unbearable, this time should we lose the game we know we'll be back, and soon.

its games like these that make me think thank god we have mancini in charge, i dont always like his style of play but he will set us right depending on who we play. this is his type of stage and setting.

Beg to differ: we will go into the semi knowing that we should win (even if it is against the Rags and we've just lost to them at the Swamp).

Did you watch the southampton game?

Very much Typical City!!!!!!!

As was QPR away, and Liverpool at home we were outclassed.
None of those were typical city, they were just poor performances. Typical city is producing moments of high drama and unpredictability at the most incredible times. Winning 5-2 at stoke and going down. Conceding a goal which relegates us 5 minutes before the end against Luton. Blackburn hitting the bar four times before we come back to win promotion. Dickov's wembley goal. Fowlers penalty miss to miss out on Europe. And of course sergio's miracle.

There will be more...

Exactly DD bad performances and bad results will happen to every team and even the Rags had them throughout their dominant period. I've no doubt every other clubs fans will have also experienced what we class as typical City moments with their own team, it's just that we've always had more than everyone else. However that's now a thing firmly of the past as far as i'm concerned. Of course ive no doubt we will still have them from time to time but that's more of a general thing that happens to all clubs. Like Ive already said for the very first time ever last night watching the cup semi final draw I was relaxed and didn't worry about who we got. Infact I was even more disapointed we got them or Chelsea as a semi final because these days City v Chelsea/Utd is what we're becoming used to and it's high stakes at the very top level.

Alive and well. This season - Ajax (both of 'em). What did those Dutch tw@s spend in the transfer market? 5 mil total?

QPR week last May also. First, I was despondent and losing sleep the whole week leading up. Telling all the American fans I'm now surrounded with that they didn't understand - dropping points to QPR was guaranteed because "that's what City does."

Then on the day as the clock approached 90 the words "typical City" swum in my head so much that I almost had to smile. Then Dzeko, then El Kun. Words still swimming. And there you have it. "Typical City" will never die.
