We have scored more set-piece goals than everyone else!!

The set piece stat doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

We've been really dangerous right from the start of the season from corners. We've scored a good number of freekicks and had plenty of penalties.

Great news.

the other (and equally important) thing about set pieces since Mancini took over is that we have drastically reduced the number of goals we concede from set pieces

I hope we mix up the set pieces a bit against the rags, the corners we scored from against burnley and brum were quite similar AJ outswingers from the left, the rags will be doing their homework on them and will probably expect them, so be good to make them a bit more vaired. Having said that its just great to have someone with as good a delivery as Johnson and hopefully he'll continue to create goals for us from them.

Correct. UInder Hughes, from setpieces, we scored loads but conceeded loads. Under Mancini we rarely conceed after adopting zonal marking.

oh for the days of the likes of Joey Barton scuffing corners along the ground?

That's because of the corners from Adam Johnson.

He does have brilliant delivery. It's a deadly mix with his corners and the likes of Ade, Lescott, Tevez, Vieira, Nedum, Kompany and Richards in the box - ok there's probably only 4 of those in any given 11 but they are all big threats. You could see the effect of that v Brum, they had to put Bowyer on Nedum and it was a massive mismatch.

Providing i've not had a memory block and am forgetting an extremely recent one, hasn't it been several months since we last conceded from a corner? In fact, have we conceded from one in 2010 at all? I honestly can't remember one off the top of my head. And it can't be more than 2 or 3 all season, if that! We look solid and organised when defending them, and Kompany gets his head on absolutely everything.

Cahill last month from a free kick

2 from long throws vs Stoke in Feb

Sunderland got a header from a corner at COMS in Dec

These stats are fantastic. To be fair the work must have been put in initially by Hughes and his coaching team because we were doing well enough from Corners and Free Kicks before Christmas but Mancini has taken it to a whole new level. I get genuinely excited now when we get a set piece.
