I don't see what this has to do with Cook. Dozens, if not hundreds, of people in this world could do the job he does. His background is marketing and he's now a football CEO, I'll bet there's loads of poeple with a more highly rated CV than Cook to be a footy club CEO. I'm not worried about the fact he might be sacked or resign himself. If he stays, then great, he's doing a steady job as well - although he has moments of clown-like stupidity, which is argubaly unacceptable!

On the side of FFPR it will be lawyers and experienced people with track records of dealing with things like this who work for the Sheikh or Khaldoon who work around all this.

I can see us getting relegated if our Garry is forced out of the club.

Leading European clubs including Italian giants Internazionale are pressing for Uefa to adopt the sanctions to ensure that the new rules, designed to ensure clubs live within their means, are not abused by clubs with massive benefactor funding.

Uefa president Michel Platini has said the rules are necessary to stop “financial doping” by the richest clubs driving their competitors into financial trouble as they strain to compete.

Manchester City, backed by Abu Dhabi’s petro-dollar wealth, and Roman Abramovich’s Chelsea are among clubs that the established European elite fear will be able to evade the rules, which effectively tie transfer fees and player wages to turnover.

The rules came into effect at the start of this season but until now the sanctions for clubs breaching the regulations have not been clear, with Uefa saying only that serious breaches could lead to clubs being thrown out of the Champions League or Europa League.

Following discussions at the European Club Association general assembly in Genevea this week however clubs have agreed to ask Uefa to announce a graded system of sanctions.

These would include financial penalties as well as preventing clubs in serious breach from signing any new players, effectively forcing them to comply with financial constraints laid down by Uefa.

Internazionale chief executive Ernesto Paolillo chaired a working group of leading clubs including Arsenal and Real Madrid this week, and said the clubs are keen to know what the penalties will be.

“We are all fully behind the financial fair play rules because we need to make some changes in European football,” he said. “European clubs were in deficit by more than €1bn last season, so we need action.

“But we need to see the sanctions now because the rules have started, so that the clubs know the rules. We think that having a transfer ban, and to have prize money from Uefa withheld, are appropriate penalties for breaking financial rules.”

Paulillo and directors of established European elite clubs are keen that City in particular are forced to comply with the rules, which limit benefactor funding to €45m over the next three seasons.

All other income must be “legitimate” revenue, but there are already complaints over City’s £400m sponsorship and naming rights deal with Etihad, the Abu Dhabi national airline controlled by the same family as City.

City believe that the deal will pass the FFP test because it includes money for youth and community development aspects, which are exempt from the rules.
And explain exacly what this has to do with backing Cook??????

I really don't see WTF all this blind faith has come from backing this clown.

There are plenty of people more impressive CV's who are better at doing his job.

Even with his rag connections I'd say Peter Kenyon is nailed on for me.

utterly dumbfounded at the apparent relish some so called blues want to hang, draw and quarter our CEO.

None of us have got the first clue as to his true impact behind the scenes other than the resounding endorsement he received from Khaldoon which tells me he is doing a fantastic job.

Of course that wont stop a few of you declaring he is "shit" though will it as you obviously have a far greater knowledge of his abilities than Khaldoon or Mansour for that matter?

"i have always thought he was a prick" is not reason enough to sack the guy im afraid and thank fuck for that.

IF it went to a vote...the cook outers would not even register... that shows how well he is doing his job..

ps

looks like Barca & Madrid are getting ready for when the other clubs get a better share of the TV deals...
There´s already a debate under way here in Spain regarding the scrapping of individual club TV deals. One look at the table each year tells you why and the other clubs are fed up of it. Matter of time imo.

No need to go so far left field I am a realist and also like to point out the facts. Cook is no better than most people paid to do his job and if he is found to have been lying he is replacable. Liking someone and working with them in a professional capacity are two completely different things.

As i said in my post; if he stays, then great, as he's doing a steady job. But i wont be bothered at all if he leaves as he is replacable. There are people in this world with decades of successful sports club CEO experience, Cook has had four years and in that four years he's also made himself look like a prick (only the odd time, but still...) and the reality is his poster campaign experience for Nike Air Jordan should not be brought to the table for FFPR, lawyers will be dealing with this sort of stuff!

The irony of Inter Milan complaining about financial fair play is too much to take, fair play of any kind is beyond them. Moratti is a horrible human being.

FFP will not work right away

Chelsea - would be f*cked
Half the Spanish league
PSG - must be struggling now
Russian clubs - ???

FFP is not just the CL its all UEFA comps - they'l soon get hacked off if they have to replace top teams with average ones

I'll support him if he is adding value to the brand and ensuring we get maximum return for minimal outlay with integrity and honesty.

You can be tough but fair at the same time and if everybody knows where they stand with you then the relationship will grow and be successful based on mutual respect.

If a number of people don't like you that's irrelevant but if they respect you then you know you are on the right path.

Good leaders are not necessarily liked or the life of the party but they are respected and their staff will be productive and see the bigger picture , set goals , achieve team goals and in doing so increase their currency and have a much better chance of achieving their personal goals on and off the pitch.

Lie to them , tell them one thing and when it suits you do another and breal your commitments to them and you will soon be on your own.
