The great thing for us and the bad thing for Fred and the rags is it isn't going to happen. They were one of the main instigators of FFP and now, even if they somehow get someone to give them a couple of hundred million just for new players, they probably can't spend it as it will mean they would fail the rules they helped create.Delicious irony.
Out of their team they probably have five quality players.De Gea,Rooney,Van Persie,Mata and Jannusi or whatever his name is and as a young player he may or may not make it,but he looks quality. So to get their first eleven up to standard and competing at the top level again they need SIX top players. At 35-40 million a throw that will be topping 200 million.I don't think even if FFP wasn't here they could afford it.
Our squad is so strong now it only needs tweaking here and there and we will soon hopefully have some quality home grown players coming through too.
Success breeds success and the more we win,the higher our stock rises, the more fans we will attract worldwide and the more revenue we will generate.Just like the situation we found ourselves in when we eventually got ourselves back into the premier league after the party had been going on for some time, the rags could very quickly find themselves cast adrift for years,if not for ever. What a fantastic thought!
