until city can replace silva with another player of his ilk we will come up just short, i consider signing a player who can function in a similar manner and knit the team together far more important than the dzeko signing.

the media lambasting of city's performance last night reflectshow little these supposed experts know about the game, because simply without silva we didnt have the conductor of our orchestra, so we had to find other qualities to grind out a result, which we did.

sign another player in the silva mould and we will win the league. without, not a chance, because we don't keep the ball as well, or for as long, don't pose the same threat, and don't possess the creative edge.

I said in another thread, there really aren't too many young players in his mould. Struggling to think of any really; I'm sure there are a few but for playing style, I guess Coutinho at Inter is similar.

I think Özil would have been a perfect signing for any of the big clubs, he can adopt a similar role.

As much as I'm satisfied with our draw against Arse, I believe we definitely need a similar type of player to Silva, probably not like for like, but another hardworking, non-stop creative outlet.

I guess this creative position would be far more important if Mancini's gonna switch his formation to his Inter-diamond.

however there are not many players in the mould of silva,
the spaniards seem to have that corner of the market pegged.
ie xavi, iniesta, silva and fishgas.
