i definetely agree
however there are not many players in the mould of silva,
the spaniards seem to have that corner of the market pegged.
ie xavi, iniesta, silva and fishgas.

Felipe Melo is a defensive midfielder. Unless you want us to be even more negative when Silva isn't available, it's pointless to suggest him.

Fabregas and Modric are pretty capable defensively though. I'm actually surprised how well Modric has adapted in the centre, really wish we'd bought him before spuds got him.

We struggled last night because Jo and Milner were very poor. If we had Bellamy and SWP on instead for example I'm not sure we would have missed Silva. I'm not saying SWP and Bellamy are fantastic players these days but they could have offered pace and tracked back a lot better than Jo and Milner....IMO at least.

We do need another creative midfielder. But it's not all we need.

We play very different systems though. Arsenal and Spurs don't have a Yaya type player, making those driving runs from deep. Silva and Pastore play pretty much the exact same role anyway.
