Rather be singing this, than years ago when we used to sing......."while we are singing please give us a goal".......had great pleasure sing it today to the irritable Newcastle fans who's team were put in its place by a far better free scoreing team ,all be it two pens and without the likes of Silva on the pitch for a full 90 mins.

The fact that we're concerned about hurting opposing fans feelings and worrying about what they might think of us proves my point.

Manchester City fans don't do arrogance. We have been hard-wired into years of humility. Like my dad once told me years ago, to be a City fan you need two things: a sense of humour and a quick wit. Opposing fans are not daft, they'll get the joke.

This is a chant based on irony. Just because it may feel awkward for some fans doesn't make it wrong or us arrogant.

But having said all that - scum are shite!

Its not as bad as the rag song cos singing 'we'll do what we want' could refer to breaking rules, cheating, unsporting conduct etc, whereas singing about scoring lots of goals is just emphasising our current run of good form.

It wont be around forever, its just a bit of fun

But, we do don't we?

It's a song, and if we carry on with the way we are going, get used to it.

Just remember, we're not Rags, we're Blues. It's just another song brought about by another song.

If Barcalona fans sang it, then I would agree it would be a bit tasteless

But this is CITY, third tier not long ago, FA Cup loss to Halifax!!

Its not arrogant, its BANTER

ffs get off your high horses - every game we get the cunts in the away end EN MASSE giving it the "where were you when you were shit" shit (which is bollocks, the one thing we have always been known for is loyalty) so why shouldnt we give them some shit back? Its more funny than arrogant

What bothers me is the sound of "easy, easy, easy". I don't think there's any sub-text here except "Yes, I am a wanker."

As for "we'll score when we want", so long as, a. opposition fans understand the real target, and b. it doesn't go on too long this season I think it's okay.
