Castleton is 50 minutes on a direct train from Manc Piccadilly. Most pubs do decent ales, some from Bradfield Brewery. There's 5 pubs.. Not sure about cost though, it's a bit touristy so ale isn't as cheap as other places mentioned.

I'll plum for Chesterfield as well. Think it's the White Swan, right across from the Cathedral, phenomenal. Think they had around 10 rotating pumps, a bunch of ciders plus a number of bottles. There's a few spoons in town that are good. Probably six other good boozers. You can day trip out to Bakewell, Thornbridge brewery is worth a stop there.
