Weekend Football Games

This is why all kick offs should be at the same time. We'll be playing West Ham with them in a much worse situation than if it had kicked off at 3 o'clock, meaning they'll be more motivated.

So, half-time between Blackpool and Stoke.

Absolutely nothing to report at all, other than Kenwyne Jones' miss of the season; it's worse than Tevez's miss against Sunderland; Jones gets the luck of the bounce as he takes on the goalkeeper and the defener. Jones has an open net to tap in to from 5 yards. But he slices his effort terribly wide to bring the ironic cheers from the relieved Blackpool faithful.

The game itself has been awful. Long passes going astray; short passes creating nothing. A couple of chances to shoot on the edge of the box not taken, and even Rory Delap's famous throw-ins are not creating chances.

Poor half from two teams that should be trying harder, seeing as they are in a relegation scrap.

I agree kick-offs should be at the same time where possible, but it can work both ways. If Tottenham happen to lose today we'll be going into tomorrow's game knowing a win might all but seal 4th. That can either add to the pressure or motivate us. The same goes for Tottenham knowing that if they don't win they might hand it to us. It could be just as good as it could be bad. Tottenham need points.

Charlie Adam free-kick crying out for a header goes over everyone.

I don't know what's happened to Blackpool's early season form at all. They can't seem to string a pass together.

-- April 30th, 2011, 4:10 pm --

Pass from Charlie Adam squirms its way to Southern, but Southern's shot is wide - inches wide.

Stoke corner is out for a Blackpool throw-in. The Stoke fans feel that it should have been given to Stoke, and they are making their feelings known.

Whelan fires a shot that brings a save and a corner. Corner is cleared.

So West Brom scores and then Scharner gets sent off almost immediately. Had to give him the second yellow, to be honest. Wasn't even close.
