Just watching the Russia v Portugal game again, it's only when you concentrate specifically on Bernardo you realise just how hard he works defensively. We all know his talent in an attacking sense but defensively he's always alert, looking for opportunities to intercept passes and he presses very quickly for the team. You see so many players who press for themselves, to make it look like they're not lazy rather than what is best for the team.
