People asking why we have signed this guy, hopefully he turns out to be an excellent signing. He is one of the world's best in his position, he is a statement signing. Rodri was clearly questioning the quality at City post Brighton match and this is part of our response. Hopefully, we are saying...no more players with potential, we are going back to signing established, world class players and it is a sign of the direction we will be taking in the next few years to get us back to where we have been.
A statement from the Board to Rodri and Haaland, stick around as we are now planning big again

We need leadership in the squad, it’s sadly lacking at the moment. Hes a big game player, just what we need.

Fuck whether he’s good at playing out with his feet, we were spoilt by Eddie and there will never be another like him.
This and only this - we were in desperate need of leaders and even though I would have been ok with James developing this season, we now have a huge presence at the back, hopefully a very vocal one. The fact that he is captain of the national team is a good indication he can add a lot and help knock our vulnerable defence into shape.

People moaning before he’s even kicked a ball (into row z apparently) for us need to have a word with yourselves.

I reckon a more traditional ‘catch the ball’ keeper might actually give our patchwork defence the confidence they need - as amazing as Eddie was of course there was always the fear and uncertainty that he would do something mental.

A bit of old school security back there will actually do us good in my view.

He's not very good with his feet I don't understand this ;-)
its not that he's not very good with his feet its more like he's just not as good as eddy with his feet, there are videos out there showing him playing with his feet and he looks fine to me, his shot stopping is the best in the world and as a captain his will organise the back line during the matches

Rodri coming back from injury into this team must be a bit like when someone wakes up from a coma after 20 years and finds the world completely unrecognisable.
