That's a decent enough analogy tbf.
He's going to be a beast for us in net, if his past is anything to go by. He's still got room to improve too which is scary.
Here’s a ridiculous stat. He’s undefeated in penalty shootouts he’s never lost one.

I guess that you love Donnarumma and think that he fits into our system.I have watched City at more than 100 different stadiums in the past 50 years and seen a lot of different goalkeepers. You are just here to try and wind people up. Your opinion seems to be based on social media memes from rival fans. I prefer the evidence of my own eyes.
Kick rocks. Give the lad an opportunity before you talk shit on him.Welcome. And I hope you do well.
In another side you'd be world class.
But under this manager, where we prize ball retention highly... I honestly think that you're a misfit.
Your distribution is not great and unlike PSG, we don't have the ability to easily cope with this.
I think we'll try to play out from the back almost always with Donnarumma, and because of this, Donnarumma will be caught out much more than Ederson or Trafford.
He should start the derby, because they're pretty much guaranteed to be given a dodgy penalty.Been skeptical throughout but its done now so I get fully behind it and see with intrigue how we adapt.
As an aside, City claim he is 6ft 5 so we get an answer to Traffords height soon enough when we see pictures of them training together, I'm still not having Trafford as 6ft 6.
It's surely unlikely he starts the derby, might not even have a training session with us before it, maybe Napoli or potentially Arsenal, either way its a baptism of fire debut.
Main character syndrome, I reckon. Why are you writing it as if he’s gonna read it and be upset.
Donnarumma is OK on the ball.
PSG adapted to this to carry him. The stats for Donnarumma's passing ability reflect this.
PSG were able to carry him because they had world class right and left backs and center backs - and they adapted there system to cope.
Ultimately PSG decided to move on from Donnarumma - on huge wages and not good on the ball - and now we have him - presumably on huge wages, not good on the ball, and we don't have the backfield to compensate given that we play form the back.
You've gone and done it now....Here’s a ridiculous stat. He’s undefeated in penalty shootouts he’s never lost one.
I too welcome Gigi and hope that he succeeds. The negativity surrounding this transfer is baffling.
It’s bad enough hearing it from the media, more annoying reading it on here.
We’ve replaced a keeper that no longer wanted to be here for a world class keeper for £14m.
A keeper that’s currently one of the best in the world.
Complete madness.
Welcome Gigi.
We absolutely can't. It's taken a while, but every team we play knows exactly how to beat us, at our own game.Just because we played a certain way for 8 years doesn’t mean we’re going to play that way for the next 8 years.
Imagine us playing for penalties with our defence , don't think many people's hearts could take itHere’s a ridiculous stat. He’s undefeated in penalty shootouts he’s never lost one.
Bang on.I'll tell you where all this negativity about Donnarumma stems from is that smug twat Julien Laurens.
Ever since Donnarumma had the terminity to turn down a contract extension(A contract which is LOWER than what he was on) from his beloved PSG he's gone out of his way to slag Donnarumma off.
And when it became clear we were only club in for him he whored himself out to any UK media outlet telling them how shit he is.
This has been picked up by the media and everyone is questioning Donnarumma in the UK press. It's even seeped into this forum.
The amount of negativity on here about the lad is fucking insane.
We've got a world class keeper for under £30M. Thats an absolute steal
That’s fair and time will tell about the keeper situation. But not signing a full back is criminal regardlessI just believe we didn't need a goalkeeper and we desperately needed a full back. This is of course a stellar signing and without a full back he's going to have to be good.
The minute he shouts at Lewis Pep will have him on the subs bench in no time ;-)
We probably won't enjoy the wonderful through balls to the midfield that were a notable but minor feature to Ederson's game.Donnarumma is OK on the ball.

Cheers. You are comparing him to peak Ederson who we haven't seen for a while now. The Eddie we saw at the CWC wasn't good with the ball at his feet either. Trafford's passing game isn't anything like peak Ederson and has already led directly to us conceding.
Donnarumma in that situation gets rid of it. We will adapt. We have plenty of players capable of receiving the ball as PSG did, to work to his weaknesses.
Tactically we saw an extended period where Ederson's passing game was completely neutralised anyway. The opposition didn't bother pressing him because they knew he could cope. So they sat off and forced him to kick it long or waited for the short pass and pressed the receiver.
Donnarumma will likely be pressed more which could end up as an overall benefit to us, as he is capable of dealing with the pressure even if his passing isn't as good.
Ouch!!Kick rocks. Give the lad an opportunity before you talk shit on him.
Some of you lot, including but not limited to yourself, can only be happy if you get exactly what you want all the time. I imagine your parents will be happy when you finally get a place of your own like a "big boy."
PSG v non-PSG bias? That sounds very believable. I remember that PSG v Marseille was a big rivalry. Not just Laurens either. There's been a few English language French journalists who have gone out of their way to slag Donnarumma off. Quite incredible when you consider the sort of season PSG had last season. Speaks to an underlying bias rather than facts.
