Welcome Donnarumma!

Some Fiserable Muckers who criticised Eddie are now complaining Donnarumma isn’t good enough. They need to grow up. Those who want a right back need to consider that we could spend £50m and he might do an ACL first game. It is always a gamble, and I think Pep and his backroom staff know a fuck site more than some of the morons who expect us to win every game.Get behind the club and the team, we have enough enemies without moaners.
Well said - I've said the same myself about the blue moaners who believe they have a superior knowledge of tactics and team selection than Pep. I often think that some of these strange fans are infiltrators.

It’s not like the other positions in a team where rotation is expected and injuries occur more frequently, we’ve signed probably the worlds best goalkeeper who is only 26 on big wages, Trafford doesn’t stand a chance.

You can be delighted with the signing, as I am, and concurrently have some empathy for Trafford as the situation is blatantly not the one he was sold.

Don’t know what’s wrong with some of you lot honestly.
What exactly was Trafford promised?

Eddie is the world's best sweeper keeper no question - love him to bits. Alisson makes way more mistakes than Eddie but no-one in the media mentions it. I digress. Donnarumma is unquestionably the world's best shot stopper - tops that group of Oblak, Alisson etc. Big personality - great organiser - monumental keeper.

I think some of the Blue Moaners have signed up for the Red Cafe Donnarumma thread.

Even if you’re right. Which I don’t think you will be. What satisfaction will you get from it?

Isn’t it much better to be positive or just shut the fuck up?
Donnarumma is good with his feet albeit Eddie for me is the all time greatest sweeper keeper on the planet. Eddie also has an incredible clean sheet record that gets overlooked. I think Donnarumma will bring out the best in our current crop of defenders. Potential signing of the season this.

Tired of reading and listening to all of this "have to feel for Trafford", "City have done him dirty"....

James Trafford would have known we were going to replace Ederson, When you sign for a big club this is part and parcel of football.

We can't be going worrying about James Trafford's feelings, It's a business, trophies and success is the name of the game.

He'll fight for his place and I'm sure the young lad is up for the challenge, he seems confident in his own ability and he also has the chance to learn for Donnarumma.

Exactly.

I said similar in the Trafford thread. If you're coming (back) to an elite club like ours, you should anticipate you're gonna have to compete with a world class keeper for a spot.

Did our fans really think we were bringing in a keeper who was playing in the championship to be Ederson's direct replacement? - I don't even think Trafford would think that was the case.

The bbc are running this graph on their article on it

The Stat loving gimps on here can probably tell us if it's a good thing or bad one.
seems he is on a par with eddie
I can tell you save percentage is as meaningless as win percentage. There is no context…how good was the shot? What was the chance it was going in? xG prevented is a much more useful stat but even then it’s not the whole story for a keeper.

Passing accuracy is pretty useless too as it doesn’t say how difficult the pass was or if it helped the team in any way.

All in all the graphs mean very little and are not the stats that any club actually looks at any more.

Stats or no stats, anybody that has seen him knows he's top notch and has won things at club and international level.

He's proven quality

Anyone using stats to make an argument in sport, is almost certifiable.
Gen z tend to lap em like gospel though.
Says it all.

Every club uses advanced stats to help them and increasingly tracking data and AI.

City Liverpool Brighton and Brentford have very large data science departments.

United, famously, are very late adopters.
