Pol said next week when Haaland was seen in Manchester and he's about as reliable as it gets so I'd say he probably gets announced today or tomorrow.

Afraid not mate. We just talked briefly about the title win and then Haaland. Had my son in my ear going “ask him about Cucurella, ask him about Phillips” but he was with his family so didn’t really want to mither him too much.

Yeah - it’s always a balance between an honest desire for info, and the equally important desire not to come across as a complete fucking nuisance who he’ll run a mile from next time he sees you!

Appreciate the update on Haaland anyway - strange one, but we have to trust they will have their reasons for holding back til July.

Maybe it’s just as simple as most footballers contracts end on June 30th officially and for legal reasons we can’t officially announce it until then although everything has been finalised for weeks.

July is when the window opens officially, so you could imagine a big July 1st announcement.

I would have thought this week would be perfect with nothing else going on he'd be the only big football story all week.

Isn’t he technically under contract with Dortmund until 30th June, hence all the 1st July announcements?

That's not how any contract works though, is it?

If you sign a contract to move into a house beginning July 1st, you don't have to pay the rent on that house in April and May.

When you change jobs, you can hand in your notice after signing a contract to begin work at the new place in 3 months and your old job is still paying you for your notice period.
