Class. Obviously can make the usual comments about standard of opposition etc but left foot, right foot, in the box, outside it. Got it all. Great movement, great touch and trickery and knows where the goal is.

It is a bit of a wildcard signing in that he could come in and just be so full of confidence he smashes it. A bit like Gabby when he first joined. Just looked like he was going to be one of the best in the world before the injury.

Definitely a huge asset to the squad having someone with a desire to score but that likes to be creative and drop deeper to pick up the ball. A benefit against tight defences and someone Haaland can play off.

This guy is CF, he isn't winger as some expect him.

He had 1 appearance on the right & 1 on the left

while he played the remaining games as CF.

What was it Pep said at the time of signing him? “We have incredible reports on him.” IN-CRE-DI-BLE :)

Clearly the opposition was pathetic but even so, the confidence and exuberance that his finishes exude is something else.

He shows intelligent movement, he's quick off the mark (without being rapid), has a venomous strike with his left or right, works his socks off, can drop deep to pick passes...

I'm actually seeing similarities with Tevez.

And we can talk about the quality of opposition, but Carlos didn't leave South America until he was 22 - and he ended up doing OK didn't he?

Some really City goals there as well. Arriving at the right time. Pressing the keeper etc.

He’s been a striker mostly in a 2 this year at club level but is capable of playing left and right and he will play there because Haaland is going to be the main man, and he’s going to play on the wing for Argentina most likely.

alvarez could well sneak under the radar and then shine in this city squad next season
options that's all pep wants/needs up front ? Yes the false 9 works, but it's bloody hard work when players are being asked to score goals that are not natural to them, square pegs in round holes

give pep the right tools, and he will add the polish to this build
