A 5-year deal. So clearly he is not seen as some stop-gap signing. But someone who will be here for many years.

I think he will benefit the whole back 4. Not just the CB's. Pep will find a way to utilize our now magnificent CB depth to help Walker, Cancelo and Gomez out. His recovery speed i believe will be used similar to Walker's.

Signing more reinforcements for the back four in no bad thing, especially given the injury records of Stones, Laporte and Ake.

You can tell with him very quickly in that interview why they’ve gone for him. Aside from his style seemingly suiting us, he’s just the right kind of personality for our squad. Seems a good guy, intelligent, hard working, humble. Think he’ll fit in well and quite quickly too, once the whirlwind of having a baby at the same time as moving country settles down!
