Welcome Marc Guehi!

Tbh the £300k a week has probably come from the agents side and rivals. His agent will want to seem like he’s secured his client a massive deal so he looks Billy big bollocks and other players want him to rep them. Rivals want to talk it up to look like they weren’t turned down. Ornstein and Romano have probably just took it and ran with it

In reality he’ll most likely be on something like £200k with sizeable bonuses built in based on success which takes it to £300k. As others have said fairly standard for a player so sought after
yeah i agree, no one knows truely what any player is on

£50m signing on fee??!!
I do not know the signing on fee, but it is better to pay a huge figure once and get it over, than to pay a huge figure weekly, the weekly figure creates a Phillips that no own can touch, so as good as this person is, there will always be another better, that he will block because of a wage he has not earned, yet.

The signing on fees are loyalty payments in the last 25 year, they are paid incrementally and normally in full if the player is sold without putting in a transfer request.

Mbappe got a £50 million loyalty payment off PSG, though he had to go through court to get it, he also received a signing on fee from Real, though it was down to the clubs the option of signing on fees, but i may be wrong. Flat wages are the problem, we can no doubt afford them, but can we afford to miss the next Kompany.

Saw Guehi last season. I was at family in Wallington, a relatively short distance to Selhurst Park. Went to Palace v Norwich, League Cup. Palace put out a strong side and won 4-0. Not the strongest opposition, I grant you, but Guehi looked very very good, confident on the ball and a good organiser. Surprised you guys never went in for Eze, it was literally edge of the seat stuff every time he got the ball!
