Welcome Ruben Dias!

Going off on the conspiracy theory angle, is it possible that this wasn't a 'stupid mistake' and was actually done on purpose by a club employee who is not a fan of the club ? Should it be laughed off as funny error or are there rogue elements at work within the club ?
Yes it is possible but it is also possible that, as I put earlier on this thread that it was a 'Clarkie' by the club. Either way I am not going to be losing any sleep over it.

thought I was in the "Media having ago at us." thread then. Welcome Ruben Dias, no time to settle in mate our defence is in dire need of some calmness.

Surely web content is double-checked before it is put out ? How do you get from Kalidou Koulibaly to Ruben Dias ? People at the club are paid (probably very good money) for these things not to happen. I am open minded that it was done deliberately.

Who cares about a name at the bottom of the webpage. It was probably a genuine mistake. Conspiracy not likely and espionage even less likely. This place is great at times:)

After a few games it will be Koulibaly who?

Innocent gaffe by the clubs webpage editor.

Sunday's game said everything to me, he was completely bypassed, sad to see.
Would still rather see him play than rodri.
I would personally play gundogan there. He played there in the run in in 17/18 and is a better passer than Rodri and no slower/less able to close spaces than rodri

I agree he didn't do too well (although who did?). But the Wolves game showed he still has something of high quality he can offer. It might need to be like Silva last year where his games are managed, but he can easily still contribute positively as far as I'm concerned.

I wonder if Ake could play that role next to Rodri in rotation with Fernandinho if we get a left back in and Laporte stays fit. He has said he’s been asked to train in 3 positions.

It was the second game of the season, and that will be him in peak condition, by game 10 he will be completely shot.

He automatically had a one \year extension because of the number of games he played last season, but if that was not the cast I think he would no longer be at the club in a playing capacity.

LB has been touted, it might give us an opportunity to go back to the inverted FB that Delph did rather well. I suppose though DM is an option. But yeah him being asked to train in 3 positions does lend to something, unless it's Pep's weird way of making players more all-rounded.

I disagree, but I can't reasonably make a point about me being right and you not being right without making assumptions and leaps of faith. So I guess the only way we'll know is when we see what happens over the next 10 games for example. We can revisit then?

Even at CB he was struggling physically last season the longer the season went, and that's a far less demanding position than DMF

It hasn’t taken the shine off for me.
It’s funny and one of those typical city moments that reminds you that some of the people working at the club are just as they used to be.
I was thinking that on Sunday.
Do you know much about Dias? Seen him play often?

Taken the shine off the signing, really? Only if you're more worried about people having a laugh and a joke about it than seeing if he makes us better. Sorry for having a sense of humour and not caring about it.
Yer alright la.
