Style of play:

– deep-lying orchestrator/midfield playmaker

– knows how to dictate tempo, he’s creative, and has the natural ability of an ‘orchestrator’ midfielder who can perform at all of midfield positions
– player with excellent technical ability, 1vs1 short-dribbling skills, close ball control, and fast direction shifts in possession
– midfielder who sees the game differently from most revealing creativity, cleverness at his off-the-ball movements, great vision, and passing ability orchestrating or providing dynamism to the team’s build-up process with ease and effectiveness
This young man sounds like a potential Pirlo, who basically created the position of deep-lying orchestrator!

Zidane and Redondo never played together in Real Madrid.one signed in 2001 and other left in 2000.Zidane any day of the week :) sorry for off topic.
When you're talking Zidane you're talking pantheon-type player.
An absolute all-time great!!

Defo my mistake there and I went off topic myself waxing lyrical about Redondo :) I was honestly thinking Zidane turned up in Redondo's very last season, a season when Redondo was clearly the the best player in the UCL and probably Real's best player full stop it was crazy they sold him, must've been me crossing off both Real's 2000 and 2002 triumphs together... I knew he went to Milan and his old injury issues cropped up but he was an amazing player.

I'm just glad to hear a player the Argentinians seem to think is the new Redondo is possibly heading our way :)

Just before Julian joined City last July, River Plate got ousted by Velez in the Copa de Libertadores round of 16, 0-1 over 2 legs. Here are the 2 iso vids of Perrone battling the 2 River WC stars from those matches. Game 1 - Game 2.
He kinda reminds me of Sergio Busquets, a guy I think Pep has always been proud of discovering and nurturing into greatness.
