Welcome to City Pep!

Crikey, if they have to be told when and where to pass then they shouldn't be playing for us. I suspect that all the other techniques you refer to have also been tried by previous coaching teams at the club, hopefully just not as well as Pep will implement.
In all seriousness though, we all need to calm down a bit here, a team is only as good as the sum of its parts. Pep won all those titles and games that someone quoted with 2 of the best teams in Europe, we're not at that stage yet.
You should really do your home work.

I bet you shout "get it forward" as well.

I liked the way he said it will take time be it 2,3,4 or 5 years! Sounds like he is here for the long term

You'd have to be a robot not to be excited by the future.
This man has talent and charisma by the bucket load,he came acroos brilliantly and connected with the crowd superbly.its an incredibly exciting period to be a Blue!!

It's easy to be concerned but don't fear.

Pep's already earned his corn as a manager by winning as many Champions' League titles as Alex "The Best Manager Ever" Ferguson in 10% of the time, dominating almost every league season he's been involved in and making it to at least the semi finals of every cup competition he's entered.

He took over an ageing squad at Barca after they went two years without winning a trophy - that's not an easy job. They finished the 07-08 season almost twenty points behind Madrid, their squad was ageing and full of players like Eidur Gudjonsen, who were good but not top tier. They finished the following season - Pep's first in charge - with the treble and by the time he left they were arguably the greatest club team of all time. He made Barcelona so good that by the time he was taking over at Bayern they genuinely thought he only took easy jobs. That's how good he is.

The guy is outrageous and the fact that reaching four consecutive Champions' League semi finals, while winning three league titles and a German Cup, is considered a failure for him is a measure of the man and what he demands of himself. The English league might be different, and there so many top quality managers in the league now, but it won't "expose him for what he is" or "find him out" like some people are suggesting in the media. Leicester, and Spurs to an extent, have proven this year that nothing more than a unity and understanding between the manager and his team are what it takes to succeed.

If Pellegrini can get us Champions' League football three years running, win three trophies and reach the Champions' League semi finals with this squad, imagine what we'll achieve under Pep.

What a pleasure to hear him speak live. I loved the bit about kicking the players ass. Sincere, honest, passionate and a sense of humour as well.

Other than what has already been mentioned, one thing I really liked seeing was the way that Pep greeted and interacted with Kelechi - big hug, smiles, grabbed him by scruff of neck - already starting the bond building.
