I was on the official coach up to Newcastle a few seasons ago and there was a major traffic problem causing gridlock so we had a similarly crazy police escort from Washington Services to the ground. It was like the parting of the Red Sea at times.

Motorcycle outriders with blues and twos on the go whizzing past at breakneck speed, stopping all other traffic at roundabouts and road junctions ,just to ensure that these football hooligan chappies were taken away from sedate South Yorkshire as soon as possible.
