Welcome to the Diabetic Thread...

What do people on here eat for breakfast ?

Personally I don't. I'm doing similar to @SWP's back and eating once a day. I drink my green gloop and replenish with water or black coffee throughout the day. I eat a huge meal in the evening, though, mostly of clean food made myself.

It's always a struggle in the beginning, but I have gone from 36" waist to under 34" that fit me 2 weeks ago. That is supplemented by doing different types of exercise, though from walking a lot to biking up to 20 miles round trip every other day and doing my resistance band training.

It's really important to be active.

Well done mate, great going.

Not had a drink since Easter, changed the diet and have lost just over a stone and a half.
Stopped eating shite and now just on veggies and meat.

I went for a wellness assessment as part of a weight loss programme I am doing at work back in Feb and did the HB1AC test and was given a result of 7.9 mmol/L (diabetic range). I did some research (www.diabetes.co.uk) and went immediately onto the 'keto' diet (low carb/high fat) for the next four months (wasn't easy in lockdown!). Had the test done again last month and it had dropped to 5.1 mmol/L (normal range).
Very pleased and have slowly reintroduced some carbs over the last few weeks and have been monitoring blood sugars at home and so far no increase!

What kind of diets do people have for type 2?

my fil has it he does not excrise, don’t eat fruit and veg , eats processed Food and has a sweet tooth , complains his body aches all the time

he cut down on this stuff and the doc said it could be revisered but he gone back to his old ways

my partner said to him eat greens, Fruits , Veg, lean meat cut down on the sweet tooth and start working out , Would this help ?

he does have the view points it’s not his fault

Assuming this is a real post...

His body aches because of all the sugar and toxins his body has amassed through processed foods. A real good indicator is whether his feet are extremely dry or he feels the sensation of 'pins and needles' in his hands and feet or both. This would be poor circulation and if not acted upon, is a dangerous situation and can lead to gangrene. It's also highly likely his cholesterol is through the roof.

He may be right, it may not be his fault, but that would depend on whether he's Type 1 (born with it) or Type 2 (self inflicted by poor diet) Diabetic.

If he's T2, it's absolutely his fault and he can reverse it. It just means taking his health seriously cos it's rare to get second chances when it gets to a dangerous level.

There's lot of advice on the forum regarding health, food and exercise as well as online.

Nothing, but willpower stopping him if he wants to be serious.
