Welcome to the new forum

Strange, I have an Ad block installed (Bluemoon is whitelisted obviously) and the new forum is really quick regardless. I'm using https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...om?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog on Chrome.

That said we do get the occasional false positives for ad blockers at work (different website of course).

Clearing your cache & cookies wouldn't hurt by the way.
Same for me
I'm using a shared wifi in a hotel this morning, by the pool, and it's loading really fast

Grand, going to see can I get adblocker disabled for here but turned on everywhere else.

That's how I run it. I'm on Chrome so if you just click the ABP stop sign thing then you can turn it off from there. Most are like it, very easy to turn off

There seem to be different options for how the message is displayed, so I'll have a play around with it and see what is best. In the meantime, I've switched it off.

Adblock is increasingly an issue which has to be addressed though. With Adblock switched on it's effectively costing us money for every page you visit, and that's unsustainable if large numbers are using it.

Subscriptions isn't really a route we want to go down, as you create a hierarchy of users (those who have paid vs those who haven't) which can be problematic.

Edit: just seen Damocles has already addressed this

Why not have a 'donate' button? One that we could use to donate anonymously to the site via paypal. It might help with the costs and the mods wouldn't feel any obligation to anyone because they wouldn't know who had donated and who hadn't.

Noticed a little bit of this on the NYCFC forum actually. Some wanker who made a donation to the site to get it set up, got himself made a moderator and is still afaik on a serious fucking power trip.

Can't find it on mobile. If I change it on the desktop version will it be the same on both? They're both synced to the same email address.

@Ric one problem I have found with the new site, and the old one, is that when I view it on my phone I get a warning saying there's a problem with the site safety certificate. The certificate it shows is not for bluemoon but for one of the ads or the hosting company. I only get this on my phone and not the pc, so I'm presuming that's where the fault lies and not with the forum. Just thought I'd mention it.

I would go with that but with the ad revenue model rather than a replacement. It can be a subtle prompt rather than in your face as some are and would help the running costs. I presume running a forum like Bluemoon is anything but cheap.

I've uninstalled AdBlocker as couldn't find a way to change it so it's not on here
If i download it again will i get the option to not have it on here
I'm a technophobe!

All you have to do is left click on the adblocker button on your browser and it will open and give you an option to 'not run on this domain' if you click that it won't work on bluemoon but will work everywhere else.

Thanks i'll download it again then
