Well done boss

I'm keeping my powder dry re mp just in case we win the cl. It would be proper old city to lose the final and come fifth in the league, but I'm desperately hoping that at least top four and a cl final happens for him to go out on. I like the guy and think he has class, despite some of the bewildering and frustrating stuff we've seen at times. Its also worth noting that its still possible we could have a top three finish, rags out the top four, league cup and cl winners. Not likely granted, but we've seen unlikely things happen at the end of seasons here before iirc.

As strange as it sounds I don't think you should ever judge a manager on cup runs or even trophies to a certain extent, judge them on performances and the rest over time will take care of itself, if city win the cl I will be happy as Larry but my judgement on the manager will not change, the next few games will not make pellekeegan a good or bad manager it will only make him a lucky one

Hear, hear! It's sad how City fans are at each others throats. It's especially saddening whe. it's just not necessary.... if we all just agreed that Pellegrini is a wank manager then we would all get along famously.

Its is sad that people make it personal, very f**king sad.

We don't have to agree about MP, in 4 weeks he'll be gone, then we can get on with supporting/abusing (delete as appropriate) the next manager.

8 games unbeaten before today, a game that should have been moved for the benefit of English football (not that I give a shit for that), and especially Manchester City FC.

Anyone who expected him to pick a different side today is a liar, so today the players deserve the shit not the manager.

A number of those players need to have a look at themselves, they were f**king dire, and then get their agents to seek their next pay day, because Pep will be watching, and there were only 2 on that pitch today that deserve any part of what Pep will want.

You are right, but despite all the shite we've had to watch this season (condolences to those who gave up a good chunk of a weeks wages to go to s'hampton today) if he finishes with the league cup and European cup this will go down as a classic season in our history. I'm not putting money on it BTW!

Spot on.

It is personal though, if people have backed this imposter of a manager and thrown about shit themselves why do they get a pass? Anyone who gives grief to posters who have been respectful and just give a different opinion then fair enough, we ain't talking about wallflowers here, if someone wants to give it the big I am why do they deserve anything less than the disdain they deserve?

I've no idea what your stance on Pellegrini has been, long term or short term, but unfortunately the donning of the victim cloak on here has tended to go hand in hand with a particularly unpleasant line in gloating wummery. As I recall there were two such arch exponents on the old Pellegrini thread (one of whom seems to be spoiling for Round 2 again now), labelling their erstwhile detractors 'low life weasels' whilst simultaneously playing the bullied innocent, with such zeal that the mods rightly pulled the whole thing.
That notwithstanding, like many others I gave Pellegrini every chance to bed himself in and to test his tactics and so forth, and the first time I contemplated his removal wasn't until the twin tactical debacles against Barca and the dippers back in Jan/Feb 2015. In the 15 months since he's taken us further backwards, and the number of truly idiotic team selections and tactical formations he's inflicted on us that have naively taken no account of the strengths of the opposition, has been frankly staggering. Swansea (h), Sunderland (a), Liverpool (h & a), Leicester (h), Spurs (a), Newcastle (a), Stoke (a), West Brom (h) and Southampton today; we've played like a pub team (and a spineless, piss poor one at that) under his tutelage far too often for it to be coincidence. He should have gone long ago, and I just pray that West Ham and the rags take two points off each other so that one City win will suffice for 4th place.

I am of the firm opinion that the guy offers almost no positives to the club whatsoever, his only redeeming feature appears to be he isn't a twat on a personal level, Thora Hird was a very nice woman but I wouldn't pay her millions to manage a football team, in fact even she would think twice about selecting kolorov and bony on a regular basis

Fair enough.

Are we allowed to comment on how classy, dignified and charming it was to play a second string team in order to enhance his reputation in the Champions League?

How about calling him average?

How about comparing him to Alan Pardew? Will that incur a ban or possible suspension, or is it within the code of conduct? Thanks in advance :-)

Well Kolarovs been called a **** off half the forum again, so why can't the manager?..

He's even worse.

True but tbf I was told that the late Dame Thora was strictly a 442 merchant so she may not be that much of an improvenent on Pellegrini, although she would unlikely be any worse, even though she passed away some years ago. It didn't stop Manuel from staying in a job.

I've said before, THIS manager only seems to take account of the opposition during the CL, every other game its pick XI and hope for the best. Total impostor who has dragged us back to before Mancini. He may even beat Real and get us in the final, BUT! the rest of the time he has been in cruise control, offering diddly. Roll on Pep.

To be honest, I don't think there's any need to call either the manager or any players a "****". By all means criticise their ability or performances, but some people go over the top with the personal insults. No need for it.

No need for anyone to ever use that word; can't you just ban it's use?

Back to the old chestnut of who motivates the players. Isn't Champions League next season something worth playing for? It seemed like one or two City players had no interest whatsoever in that game. Kolarov in particular should not be in the squad for Real Madrid away. If you are unprofessional then there have to be consequences.

Pellegrini keeps trotting out these quotes that if you are a big club you have to compete in all competitions but he can't convince the players of that. They should not need someone to motivate them, but we all know from experience that they do

Clearly the players have no respect for the manager and no respect for the shirt
