Well done boss

Oh the guy who managed us to 1 home goal in 5 months. Yeah I definitely feel he's a better manager

It's not a question of who's 'better'. It's about underachievement given the level of resources available. Pearce, shit though he undoubtedly was, had to ask the players if they knew of anyone else that might be available on loan (hence Demarcus Beesley), we were that hard up. Pellers inherited a £300m squad stuffed with top internationals and yet still managed to preside over tactical debacles and spineless surrenders by the bucketload. Liverpool (h), Spurs (a), Stoke (a), Villa (a), Leicester (h), Liverpool (a), Sunderland (a), Swansea (h), Southampton (a), Newcastle (a), the rags (a). I'd say the jury's out......

well atleast he is getting a good parting gift !

Sheikh Mansour and Khaldoon Al Mubarak have splashed out on an original L.S. Lowry painting as a parting gift for Manuel Pellegrini. [MEN]
Nobody at the club would reveal which painting they bought, but Lowrys can cost anything between £4,000 and £5.6million. [MEN]
Am I the only one with the mental image of them putting his head through the fucking canvas?

It's quite difficult to compare former managers with MP in terms of underachieving.

We had no real expectations before SM took us over.

Frank Clark basically relegated us to the third tier. That's got to be worse than MP?

60 odd points, have a think abt that
Even the bookies had us at 1/500 for top 4 in September. Its worse what he's done to us.

Psycho spent the equivalent of about £25m in today's market on Corradi. I wouldn't use resources to excuse him.

The club should of done the right thing and sacked him last season. I like pellegrini, nice man and all that, but I can't forgive him for this and last season despite spending millions of money. I began to feel sorry for him when I saw the stadium empty after the game, but it was to be expected. We now need a new squad because this one is bang average. Its not all down to him, other people at the club responsible for recruiting players need sacking. I've gone beyond the point of caring, at the end of the day, we're about to enter the most exciting years of our history. Thanks for the 13/14 season manuel.

I think the owners will be happy with a milk cup win and qualification for the Thursday night eurovision.

No doubt i'll get a shit load of stick for this but......

Look at the respect shown to Ranieri yesterday - Pellegrini deserved a comparable amount.

He won us the league.

We got Knocked out to a deflected own goal in the semis of the Champions League.

But most importantly, he did not act like a massive dick and presented a good image of city.

Oh well you see the thing is it was specifically stated on page 147 that he was OUR WORST MANAGER EVER.
Conveniently watered down to underachieving in the following posts which I have no issue with but my post was in direct response to the original comment. That's why I named a plethora of managers who all made a right royal fuck up of the club apart from Coppell who had a panic attack before he managed to remain long enough. I could state specifically why they were far worse than Pelligrini but ill just accept the revised claim that he has underachieved instead.

But the guy I replied to clearly said "worst manager ever" which was what I was disagreeing with as Pearce was indeed a worse manager which surely you can't dispute?

I've lived through a lot of dross. We've under performed this season, sure, but it's far better than where we were before.

Im sorry but your post signifies and typifies what is wrong right now,
I am in a generation where maybe we are spoilt. We only had 10 or so years of abysmal performances, sides and managers etc

However, the fact we were so low, is now not a yardstick to compare with now...
This is a totally different era, club and in some ways; sport...
Football has changed and we CANNOT excuse this awful under-achievement with this squad over the past two years,

All the money we spent in the summer, we should have walked the league or at least ensured we stayed within the top 2 this season...MINIMUM

It is a genuine disgrace where we have ended up, albeit deservedly so due to the showing from this fraud manager & squad that simply have not maximised their potential,

I repeat, saying that this is better than it used to be is the most negative and useless thing you can say.. where does that get us!? Nowhere
We are no longer little city, but that perception will stick if the fans continue with such small time mentality.. a bit like the side today to be fair- to drop 2 leads so softly

Not our worst manager ever but -

- one of the biggest underachievers with the resources available
- one of our best managers for inability to change tactics and plan for specific opponents
- one of our greatest managers for repeating the same mistakes
- one of the best managers for frustrating the fans
- one of our most predictable managers

He is a gentleman and loyal, but not the man we needed for the last three years.

I completely agree, if we want to be considered one of the top teams in the world we have to qualify. Could you imagine barca or real not qualifying. This is how we should see it
