Pellegrini hails #mcfc fans after final act in charge. READ: http://manc.it/1TPVyw5 #swansvcity

Having just got back from the match, I have 'tried' to read the pages since the final whistle. I was expecting to see more 'class' now that the issue is done and 4th is secure.

It is a shame - this season has been let down in so many ways - and a lot of that directly attributable to Manuel. Also though, the attitude and actions of our fans has also been (obviously just my opinion) pretty disappointing. I am not an happy clapper - I am really looking forward to next season under Pep and I have been highly critical of Pellers at times these last 2 seasons.

But after the whistle was blown - was it not a time for CITY fans to show a bit more class? Lots of fans have been frustrated and made that very clear - but was it necessary tonight.

I was confident that the fans at the game today would show more class and I am glad that was the last memory Pellers will have of the CITY fans.

I thought that we gave him a really good send off - especially as it was supposed to be Swansea's end of season party. So my message to the fans at the match probably logging in during the night is - well done - at least you guys stayed classy.

I've learnt over the past season that a lot of the stuff we read in internet forums doesn't always reflect what I see and hear at games. I don't really know why people seem to get much angrier on their keyboards than they do at the games.

I genuinely wish Pellegrini the best of luck wherever he ends up because he's a top bloke. As a manager I think he's very poor tactically but by far his biggest problem was squad management. By refusing to drop the big names even when they weren't performing he sucked the competitiveness out of the squad from the inside. Way too nice a bloke to deal with the egos we have in the squad unfortunately.

Good post.

Although I think he's a dreadful manager, he's maintained his dignity throughout and often we have not. I know I haven't.

I was all in favour of the mass walkout last week, but in hindsight it was classless and beneath us really. We're better than that and I have felt bad about how we behaved afterwards.

He's still a shite manager though.

Wish him well. The standards had fallen off and it probably would have ended here anyway. One area where he probably won't get enough credit is that he effectively eased out Yaya by the end of the season without any known issues or discontent. Surely not an easy task. Maybe it needed to come or happen sooner but I'll still give him credit for having kept the locker room from becoming a sideshow down a miserable stretch while some players were clearly not at their best

Well if you discount Yaya's agent phoning up Sky Sports every other day to moan about pretty much anything and everything for the last few months, you're right we've not had a peep of discontent.

Matters now not one jot.

He's a nice man and I wish him all the best in the future.

In time I'm sure I will look back on his three years in charge with fondness afterall we did win a League title, were runners up, won two League Cups.

End of the Chapter for him in relation to our club....time to turn the page and start the new Chapter...............we await the arrival of Pep.

Agreed with all that, I really like the guy, but I'm glad he's gone.

I enjoyed having Pellegrini as our manager. I enjoyed winning silverware and scoring many goals. I enjoyed to see our manager at least behaving decent in this fecked up PL and their managers.

Still I think it was the right time to go and get a manager like Pep in. I hope it will show.

His announcement under instruction from the board!
Doubtful. He'd have wanted to announce it so he could put himself in the shop window and crack on with negotiating his next move before the summer.

At least his next move is out of here.

A decent man of great integrity, unfortunately not the greatest motivator, tactician and coach; ok but nothing special. Yes we won some trophys but a better coach would have had us competitive on all fronts.
Good luck to him, can only wish him all the best.

Although I agree with you on this point, it can be very difficult for people to hide their feelings at times like these. I don't think the snub was aimed specifically at Pellegrini. A lot of people have been pissed off not only with Pellegrini but with the team for their perceived unwillingness to put in the effort, (I think the capitulation at the Bernabeu was still fresh in peoples minds) and the hierarchy for imposing high ticket prices on them. All these things were factors that caused people not to want to stay behind and applaud. Their hearts weren't really in it. It's not desirable but it certainly was understandable when you take into account the sentiments that have been bubbling under the surface of the fan base for quite a while now.

I remember Mancini's final season. Fans thankful for what he did but happy he was shown the door. Not mincing words much either on his way out.

Much the same here. One day we'll be wishing Pep out too. And the world turns..
