I'm not sure about that as I took my state pension almost two years ago, although like Bill I'm still working. You have the option to defer your pension and it then increases over time before you take it. I got a letter a few months before I reached state retirement age asking if I wanted to take it or not. If you take it you obviously have to provide details of where it should be paid into. I'd advise Bill to contact the the department for work & pensions.
