Wembley 1981

The 2 items what really made me hate that club still to this day, when we arrived by minibus those Spurs guys were running around in white boiler suits clockwork orange style, with star of David drawn in with felt tip, looking for small groups of city fans, after the 1sr game one tried to get on our coach but got something he didn't expect? The other was what I saw on TV after the replay, Joe corrigan walked in the Spurs dressing room and congratulated the scumbags, he was totally ignored by perryman and his scumbag side. For me we lost the cup in the 1st game, it was travesty that the replay was down there, ( in fact Spurs only played one game outside landan which was the 1st semi final at sheff weds, they were drawn out for the 3rd 4th 5th and qtrs all at home? My thoughts about hacket (ref ) at that replay were that he favoured the landan side, as for villas goal the city players were so frightened to tackle him they knew it would have probably a penalty and booking, but the biggest mistake was by bond not playing our two most experienced players Dennis tueart and Tommy booth in the replay a monumental mistake which I felt cost city the cup.
Maybe you re Right..and the point is,for all of us,we love to hate the feckin spuds.....

Went to both . theywell outnumbered us at the replay. Never forget the cheeky fuckers all over the place at half time in our end. And the look on their faces when they were climbing up the stands to get in our end. Everyone was takin turns kicking the cunts back down. After the match in the carpark was mental. Two fantastic days out apart from the end result.. The events of that night made me hate them cunts to this day. With a good friend of mine that night Steve evo Evans . gone but never forgotten

Drove to Wembley for the final, drove to Wembley for the replay and then drove there again about ten days later to see England v Scotland.
Spurs fans are arses; did I mention that?

My dad played at a decent level and his team got a ticket from the FA, being the only City fan in his team he got the ticket.

I was about 12 at the time and City mad and had been to all the cup games except Peterborough away.

My dad gave me the ticket and drove me to Maine Road and put me on the coach. 12 years old and going to Wembley on my own.

I was decked out in City colours and as our coach arrived it was a sea of cockneys and as a previous poster said, lots of them were wearing white boiler suits with writing on the back.

We must have been one of the first coaches to arrive and City fans were being attacked and flags set on fire.

I got off the coach and found the entrance letter that matched my ticket. It was for the Spurs end !! Standing !!

I wouldn't go in and ran back around to Wembley way and sat up on a grass verge.

Helen "the bell" Turner spotted me and asked if I had lost my dad ? I told her my plight and she escorted me to the City end and managed to get me a swap with a Spurs fan.

I was stood about halfway up behind the goal where Tommy Hutch scored both goals.

Didn't get to the reply, but will always be grateful to big Helen that day.

I never thought if ever see us lift a cup and still can't believe I've seen all 3 domestic cups lifted before my eyes.

I don't recall any Spurs fans in boiler suits, the ones I particularly remember at the Saturday Final were all Adam Ant clones, complete with Indian warpaint stripes across their faces.
And it was also the first time that I realised how many Jewish fans that Spurs had supporting them,as there were a lot of Star of David flags, mixed in with the Spurs cockerel flags etc.

I couldn't get the time off work for the replay and watched it on TV.

It was the first time I ever saw City play live on TV in colour.

Made a weekend of the first game staying Gloucester Road area.
On tube up to Wemberlee was crammed near a load of Spurs neandrathals one of whom had the most disgusting bad breath I've ever known. Mixture of onion, cigs and beer held together by copious amounts of dogshit.
Stood in our end where both Tommy Hutch goals went in.
Just had the feeling that the moment had gone.
Couldn't afford the replay and watched on telly at my sisters house with a sombre feeling of resignation enveloping me.

I'd just started work and missed the first game, went home early and watched it on telly.

Went to the reply by train with my dad, fine getting down there but a nightmare afterwards, seemed like we walked miles through Spurs fans all I suppose understandably bouncing around but with no class.

Think we ended up on the last special home we'd queued for hours outside some houses near the railway station. Got off the train home for a wash and straight out to work.

We were outnumbered for the reply as Wembley sold loads of tickets, as Mackenzie's volly went in it was just about that go off between the Spurs fans in the lower tier and our guys in the top.

After seeing 'that' goal live and it being shown almost as much as the GS shinner in the derby on TV since it was only about 3 years ago that I actually watched it again.

Cheers everyone
That def brought back memories of 81
I still hate Spurs to this day,lol

England like their football counterparts bottled it end of,although not helped by the media building them up to something they're not...edit ffs just shows when drink comes into play you make a Cnut out of yourself I thought this was the rugby World Cup thread, taxi for dickhead....fcuk off Spurs ...

1st game I remember, I was 6. Dad was at Wembley n I was watching it with grandad on telly. Got one of my favourite Polaroids from that morning. Last thing grandad ever said to me (with his scary just about to die face) was 'City'. Wish he could've experienced today and on the other hand when he died he must've wished he hadn't have placed such a footy supporting burden on his grandson.

Ok I've re read it and fuck it it took me ages fuck it
