Booked Euston Travelodge after the first leg. £40 for a small family room and can cancel up to 12 noon on the day of the game so had nowt to lose.
Did the same for Cricklewood Travelodge £31 with 20% discount.

on the way to London You do know the M6 joins the M1?Driving down is a pain in the arse but at least you're not reliant on our world famous shitty public transport infrastructure. Definitely going down the M1 though as Villa fans will be on the M6 in large numbers.

Easiest trip of the year. Had my hotel booked since e June 19, parking sorted since we drew scum. Set off around 7am on the Saturday, one pitt stop just after Birmingham, park up near the hotel for 11:15am. Tube into London for a day out. Drive back Monday.

Anyone who hasn't booked train tickets whi is travelling with a mate look into 2together rail pass. It costs £30 for a year and you get one third off ticket cost. So for one journey Manchester to London at about £180 for 2 people it pays for itself and saves about £25. Then you can use for next year anywhere in the country.
You need passport picture of both people and only takes 5 minutes from any ticket office. Only slight downside is you have to travel with that person to get the discount.

best deal is have kids travelling with you.
Can get 2 adults and up to 4 kids for £99 return (although not from Manchester). Can still get that from Warrington. Family ticket
