So, someone answering none or only a few is less loyal than someone attending them all, is that it?

Apparently so.....

Total bollocks.

I'm a Blue, went to some weird games in the 90's as a kid and we were battered.
Can't even remember who we were playing against.
Doesn't matter, what matters is atleast you go to games.

Dick measuring contests. joke

Re: Proper Loyalty Test - were you at these?

I wasn't old enough to go to a lot of them on there. Probably the only one on the list I went to is the Lincoln 4-1, was only about 8-9. My worst away game experience looking back was getting beat by Stockport 2-1 with all their goals in the last 10 mins.

Any glory hunter can attend a promotion decider or cup final. The true test of loyalty is whether you were there when things went tits up. So I've compiled ten of our recent(ish) away games which have become iconic for the wrong reasons. Can anyone get close to 10/10?

Shrewsbury 0-2 1979
Halifax 0-1 1980
Brighton 1-4 1982
Derby 0-6 1989
United 0-5 1994
Liverpool 0-6 1995
Lincoln 1-4 97
Darlington 1-1 1998
York 2-2 - 1998
Boro 1-8 - 2008

An unfortunate selection DD in that I boast just 2 yes's - Mark Wright winning header after header at Derby (which was the week after we battered the rags wasn't it?), and the game that Alan Ball enjoyed so much at Klanfield - and I am therefore outed as a glory hunter!

In my defence though I was at Shrewsbury in a blizzard when tricky Trevor Morley bagged us a last minute winner circa 89, and at Brighton when we lost in the Carling Cup under Hughesless, and at Maine Road for the return win over York.....

Re: Proper Loyalty Test - were you at these?

How about chucking in a few Full Members Cup area away games, the Plymouth away games (cup and League) after one was postponed etc

Shrewsbury 0-2 1979 Yes
Halifax 0-1 1980 Yes
Brighton 1-4 1982 Yes
Derby 0-6 1989 Yes
United 0-5 1994 No
Liverpool 0-6 1995 No
Lincoln 1-4 97 No
Darlington 1-1 1998 No
York 2-2 - 1998 Yes
Boro 1-8 - 2008 Yes

Great days! often remind my three teenage lads of them if they start moaning in any way about getting beat by Barcelona or Bayern... six out of ten before making a comeback in '98...
1-4 v Brighton, lovely journey down with 15 of us packed in the back of a transit, open air stand and pouring down too, Happy days

Re: Proper Loyalty Test - were you at these?

Sadly I am confirmed as a Red Armchair wanker which I am sure is not a surprise to many in the Agenda forum.

In my defence I did go to the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool on the Wednesday in the Coca Cola cup , three days prior to the 6-0 league defeat. I wonder how many did both of them? That is a real double.

99 Season I went to the 2-2 draw with Luton but the rest I remember as decent away victories. One of the worst lows I can remember was 4-0 defeat to West Brom during the Keegan years. There has been worst results but in the context we were a decent team pretty disappointing at the time. Probably a similar feeling if Swansea beat us 4-0

Missed the Darlo Cup tie, did the rest.

9 out of 10.

Impressive, mate. Remind me never to attend a game with you.

Re: Proper Loyalty Test - were you at these?

Bit odd this.

If you didn't know whether we'd win or lose beforehand how can this be a test of loyalty.

If you knew about the Luton game beforehand and still went along and experienced the pain then yeah, I'm with you.
