West Brom Post Match Thread

The game summed up Pellegrini's whole term in 90mins, wrong team selection left it as was for 60 mins. Then his big guns pulled him out of the shit, then he stood there doing nothing whilst it was patently obvious that we needed the hole in midfield plugging. He then ignored our most important striker clearly limping around the pitch. Luckily Pulis took off WBA's best player.

Bad start but great fightback and we held onto the win.
Subs changed it, didn't think Delph was doing that bad, but Yaya and Kevin brought the quality we were lacking.
Nasri was brilliant. First start since injury, helped create the pen and scored the winner. But for his 200th appearance, roughed up yet worked hard the whole game, another unstoppable penalty Agüero motm for me.
Celebrating no injuries as much as the win. Excited for Tuesday.

The game summed up the fact we have a huge game on Tuesday with a CL semi final at stake and that we still put out a side today that on paper should take care of West Brom with ease.

The fact we struggled is down to those fringe players just not being up to the job and knowing that their futures lie elsewhere right now but that said, we still got the win and its all that matters.

Bony being picked aside and he didn't let their first goal in, i dont know what else the gaffer could have done today.

I have to disagree , he simply doesn't fit into the City team in any capacity whatsoever. He is a massive disappointment and goodness knows why Pelligrini persists with him and yet leaves Ineacho on the bench.

Seriously poor management imo !

Have to agree.
I have 'some' sympathy for not wanting to put too much pressure on a young player, and I also have a lot of sympathy for the fact that we don't see player attitudes behind the scenes, but based on on pitch performances only - it's sending out all the wrong signals. If you're in form, you play - and relative to Bony, Iheanacho is in form.

Iheanacho is an opportunity to demonstrate to our youth that you CAN make the first team and be a consistent starter if you play well enough.

I can't even bring myself to suggest that we're putting Bony in the shop window - as he's doing nothing to sell himself. Are we hoping that his mere presence in the team might hoodwink another club into thinking he's rated by us?

Good result!! Thank fuck Yaya came on and changed the game..

Well done Nasri..

100% penalty I thought and no need for it, we got lucky for once.

I was sort of with those blaming the system rather than the player but I think he is rash, lacks intelligence, has little pace over the first five yards and panics under pressure.

If Pep turns him into a player it will be some achievement.

Think it would be easier for Pep to walk on water than turn Mangala into a player

We are a team with real class with 3 or 4 very average players currently playing for us.

Bony, Fernando and Delph are absolute dross.

And the two centre halfs remain totally unconvincing.

Some seem to love Delph for me he is absolutely average at best.
