West Brom - post match thread

Great performance and result...some lovely attacking football and great defensive resolve (that kid they brought on looked good)

We look so much more balanced going 4 at the back and one less in the midfield (to definitely gets the better out of all of the midfielders and we hold be looking to rotate through the 4 of them playing only 3 of them at a time...Im sure this will have advantages for the fitness levels of the players and overcoming fatigue and potential injuries due to that)

....thought fernando did ok at fullback but in the second half he started to struggle a bit.
Great to see A. Garcia get a bit more first team time in the prem as well...fully deserved

Leicester did us a favour as well and lets hope Palace do the same to the red scouse

LOl at utd......both herrara (and he is key to them) and Jose sent off! I wonder if the media will be mentioning their winless run outside of the one game vs us and a weakened team....I don't think they will....the pressure is getting to Jose and you can see it...even after our game on Wednesday you could see he was just relieved and not happy.

First half totally dominant just like the Everton game. Second half think we took our foot off the pedal with an eye on the barca game. Great to see Sergio back in the goals, can't understand why people doubt the best striker in the league. Nice to see gundogan playing well and Otamendi also did great. Looks a much better players when he stays on his feet. Will rattle a few cages here, but still not convinced by Bravo's goalkeeping. On at least a couple of occasions he fucked up but today we got away with it.

Absolutely. I'm not myopic enough to put the derby ahead of the greater good.

You really think the rags are happier with a 1/4 in the Mickey Mouse cup than 3 points today. Not a chance.
I think we'd have managed a good result today with wednesdays line up and i think we'd have also beaten Utd on Weds with today's lineup. 8000 City fans shouldn't have to pay to watch 2nd string imo and it's always nice to get one over on them ****s after all the defeats i've witnessed over the years.

Excellent performance and result. We still looked a bit wobbly at the back occasionally, but it was great to get a clean sheet.

Wait Wait!!! I thought we are in crisis mode!!! hahahahaha. Can the Boohoo fans now please sit down, relax and enjoy the show!

Well done lads. Aguero back to his best. Scored 2 and setup 2!
Very impressed with Garcia, this kid has a great future and can feature in more PL games for City

Now let's try to get a draw against Barca. That's be enough to relax before our next game. I hope no one starts saying we are going to smash Barca. A Draw will Suffice!

Our support was loud today, great display by the those who made the trip.

Not much to complain about there. A couple of hairy situations that we actually took care of this time, which is what we're supposed to do. Still bothered by the press, need everyone to show and move better to break it but certainly a bit better today than we have been. You can see how with everyone healthy and we put Kev as a forward maybe we could use his killer ball instinct in a way where we try to break the press to him forward and figure that he'll pick the right pass frequently enough for us to score a few.

Alternatively, i'd be plenty comfortable just subbing Kev, Silva, and Gundogan regularly to keep them all fresh. Probably the best plan, tbh. So many fixtures and they all pick up injuries from time to time.

A nice match from Gundogan who clearly is better in a more advanced position. The 3 ATB formation had him anchoring deep and he just wasn't as influential in that role. A few really nice passes to create real chances which is what we have been lacking.

We're gonna have to come to terms with the idea that he is an instigator of play and not a stopper. He has made some good saves that Joe would have been proud of, but his 'goalkeeping' philosophy seems to be written in a foreign language for me to fully understand!

thought bravo's punching from crosses was good today mind....he got some real distance on one in particular.........Fully agree about Ottomendi...he only really went to ground once and that was the correct decision and he made a great tackle......Maybe Pep has had a word (I would fully expect him to after recent games)

Great result but you can't blame some Blues for criticizing some recent performances, just as they praise when we play well. The flapping is part and parcel of being a Blue from the old days. We are still a work in progress and to be top is probably better than many thought we would be at this stage. If we progress in the champions league and stay top or thereabouts at Christmas happy days.
