And on what would he be basing this belief?
His focus is CL. He would like to keep City in top 4 but it's not his priority. If he can make semis or the final, it will be more to him than today's game. Hence the selection.

I would shake your hand for an ugly win today, no matter how we do it, we need to get 3 points from this game.
The race for 3rd and 4th place will be tough away, so let's bag every points at home.
Was just thinking that. Scrappy 1-0 win would be good enough today.

With Navas and Kolarov in the team, Bony makes sense to me against a Pulis side. It's when he picks him and doesn't play anyone who's going to cross it that really baffles me. Delph in with Fernando is the bigger concern as they will be pretty redundant against a side who park the bus against everyone

A Delph + Fernando midfield sounds painful and I'm sure it'll look even worse. It's almost as bad as De Jong - Barry, except that Barry could pass the ball more than 10 yards. If our only creative outlet is a Nasri that's been out for 6 months stuck out on the left wing...the mind boggles.

I can't say anything about Bony that hasn't already been said.

Then he is out of order.

My point was that there could be a very valid reason the lad is on the bench. Got to laugh at those now claiming it is a shit team tonight though
The valid reason is that our manager is a wanker who won't admit he's been wrong all season despite all the evidence to contrary.
