West Brom Vs City Post Match Thread

Proper good old football match that., the sort of day I miss most from far away. Boxing Day in the snow, a comfortable City win, back in the car for a short trip up the M6 with the radio on, pie & chips somewhere on the way, and home in time to watch it all again on the telly.

good game this one..1st half was a top performance by us and in the 2nd half it was clearly that we take the foot of the gas with burnley game in players mind 3 pts is everything what matters atm

Can someone confirm to me the source saying the whole 90 minutes have to be completed for the result to stand please?

THE RULE ON ABANDONED MATCHES.
Whenever a match gets abandoned this page gets busy
with those who are wondering if the result will stand.
The answer in the English domestic game is that it won't.
The rule is that a match must last for 90 minutes so if it is
abandoned and so obviously hasn't got to the 90 minutes
then the abandoned match is void and must be restaged, in full.
That's often very unfair but thems the rules!
OK, there are a very few exception to that rule - read
on for details of those and a few interesting stories about
abandoned matches .....

Not entirely correct the laws of the game allow amendments by competition. In the following is a quote from the PL rules
"The Board may order a League Match which for whatever reason lasts for less than 90 minutes to count as a completed fixture or to be replayed either partially or in its entirety"

Great performance in the 1st half and think the players quite rightly took the foot off the gas in the second, in those conditions it would be incredibly hard to pull off anything decent beyond hoof ball and no point risking injuring yourself due to terrible conditions for a match your winning 3-0.

Beyond needing to dig one of two players out of the blizzard we should be in great form for Burnley :)

How would "partially" work? Carry on from the point it was abandoned?

They did it in Italy last season I think, it was a Champs League game, they started the day after at the same point

I have to say I'm a tad disappointed that we've found this great run of form now that we are out of the title-race (it's between Chelsea and Man U according to the BBC and ITV news reports this evening). Still, beggars can't be choosers.

Anyone at the match today give yourself a pat on the back. Outstanding support in great voice.

Oh yes, that vaguely rings a bell.

Fantastic result, but performance-wise we're capable of better defending. Good performances all round but the stand outs were Milner and Nasri. They were rabid. Also special mention for Silva, he's in a class of his own.

I saw that and laughed..

.....in other news, the champions also played and won maintaining pressure on Chelsea.

Lol

I didn't see it but it sounds like the perfect performance. 3-0 up at half time and easing our way through the second half. Exactly what you when you've got 2 games in 3 days.
