West Ham 2016/17

Another club with 50,000 waiting list manage 45,,500 with 5000 Chelsea.
10,_000 empty chap seats for a derby

If we can root out the very small minority of dickheads all will be well.
I'm curious as to why its suddenly kicking off so regularly ?

I spoke to a WHU season ticket holder at wedding a few weeks ago, and at that point most of the trouble had been between sections of WHU fans, but it seems to have recently escalated beyond that. Is it simply because the dickhead young element have managed to get tickets they couldn't get previously, or is it older (ex 80's types) returning, and thinking they can take the limelight ?

There's clearly an issue with segregation between home and away fans, as they keep getting it together, do you sit in another part of the stadium, or have you seen what the issue is close up ?

I hope they get it sorted as I intend coming for our away game, and I've never had anything but a good experience at West Ham away, I've seen other people have issues, but almost always of their own making, by taking the banter too far mostly, taking the piss in pubs.

Firstly, in my experience of going - ive seen zero incidents (wasn't there last night) aside some Hammers fans arguing with stewards, i sit on the east stand.

The issue between the fans seems now to have died down, it was mainly down to having persistent standing at the Bobby Moore Lower at Upton Park - as a club they turned a blind eye to that part but at the new stadium it's simply not allowed - so you have fans that have always been standing coming to a new stadium and being told they must sit - it caused some anger with certain fans.

the very small minority looking for trouble, i'd say look like ex 80's types, complete di*kheads - yeh you get some teenage wannabe Danny Dyers. But honestly you are talking less than 100 people out of 57,000 - thats all it takes for the Media to latch on and make it all sound 100x worse.

The segregation is no different to how it was at Upton Park - Just with a whole new stadium and with some relatively small incidences blown out of proportion there was always going to be trouble last night. It will all die down soon.

I can't see how the FA can fine West Ham when they don't own the ground or pay for stadium security?

Another win for the dildo brothers at the expense of the fans.

Not going to go to the new stadium until they sort themselves out.

No its clearly not mate.

Seats built on fucking scaffold for all that money spent?

No police radio or police inside the ground because of it?

How the actual fuck has it got a safety certificate in this modern health and safety era i will never know unless its because of Karen Brady, her Tory influence and friends and the obvious embarrassment the stadium and costs associated with it have cause so many over the last few years.

Not having a go at you mate or West Ham but its a complete and utter fucking shambles which ever way you look at it and goes way back.

This is the one thing I just don't understand, are there any techno-geeks out there who can explain it to me!

Radio is radio, it's been around since 1902 I think... is there something weird about the London City stadium that blocks radio! Or is it really just a case that West Ham have been given an estimated cost/charge for police to be present in numbers and they don't want to cough up? If so, that is disgraceful (I know we got an ex-Commenwelth games stadium, so can't grumble too much) but West Ham really hit the jackpot when they did the deal that they did & they should not be skimping on stewards, police or whatever, because if trouble continues fans with young kids will just stop going and that would be quite sad.

The police these days dont use conventional radio in that sense, its called Airwave. Its an encrypted digital thing that requires coverage from aerials or masts or whatever. These are all over the place in the country outside but they will often lose coverage inside a building or arena. I think West Ham have to put these masts in before the Met will police inside. They police outside, because the radios work there.

We must not forget that an Olympic games where held in the stadium with the obvious terrorist threat that an event of that stature would attract. Are we to believe that the police had no effective communications channels available during the Olympics should they have had to enter to deal with an incident?

Its a complete fucking farce it rally is.

Thank you Uncle Wally, that does go some way to explaining this to me. I still don't understand that over the 3-4 years that it took to convert the stadium from athletics into a primarily footy place (at not insignificant expense) this Airwave system was not part of the upgrade. Actually when I come to think about it, was Airwave not built-in back in 2012 as I'm sure in the modern climate, security at the London Olympics was quite important!*

Anyway, if this Airwave thing is needed, West Ham should get it done ASAP, because on talkshite tonight they are saying there have been calls for matches to be 'behind closed doors' because of this trouble they have been having, that will cost them points and £s, just when Bilic seems to be getting them back on track.

*I actually went to see badminton and ping pong with my 2 young kids - (at a different venue) and during a long queue my lad needed to go toilet, we took him behind a big advertising hording only to bump into like ten SAS guys! I explained the problem and they were fine with it! (but I can assure you it was not just my lad who was pissing himself!)
