West Ham 2024/25

Hopefully no long term damage. That car is quite the wreck. Article says he crashed a car previously whilst speeding, I do hope that isn't the case again, he appears to be a decent bloke and I cannot abide reckless people who choose to speed and put lives in danger.
I don’t see how the car could have ended up in that state, if he wasn’t speeding.

Horrible news, I hope he makes a good recovery and is able to live a long and healthy life. It seems he's lucky to be alive and, whatever his injuries, a long recovery process seems likely, and this could easily be the end of his career. But his age and fitness should serve him well if this is survivable.

The vagueness of the original statement obviously makes your mind race, but it must have been fairly soon after the accident and of course they need to respect his privacy and be conscious that he might have close family and friends who hadn't been notified yet.

The pictures of the wreckage are distressing, but remember - cars are designed to crumple, to absorb as much of the impact as possible before it reaches then inhabitants.

Really makes you think about how fragile life is, if you needed a reminder.

4th car he has stuffed. If it is RHD it looks bad for him. Not much left on the rhd side.

Was my first thought too and if he was, I hope the full extent of the law comes down on him as punishment but we can hold off on the lynching until we find out what actually happened, I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

So that is 2 high performance cars that he has crashed.
His insurance premium must be through the roof.
I would imagine it's in the 10s of thousands of pounds per annum.
I used to run a Ford Rental hire department about 15-20 years ago,and the insurance company we used would not cover professional sportsmen ,as they were deemed to be too high a risk.

To do it once can be classed as unlucky; anyone can have an accident, and high performance cars can (so I understand) be a challenge to drive. But twice? Hmm. You'd have to start looking at the driver, particularly in a single car prang, which this looks like. Repeat, "looks like". As for his insurance premium; I can’t see him having too much difficulty paying it. He's rumoured to be on £85k per week. How many on here are paying half a week's wages for the insurance for the year? And that's just for a run of the mill Citroën or Kia hatchback, not some all singing, all dancing jalopy.

Anyway; he should get himself a Tucson. It's what all the classiest people drive

Hope he makes a full recovery. Meanwhile I noticed the BBC said City, among others, had sent West Ham good wishes for a full recovery, whereas the Daily Fail missed us off the list of those who sent good wishes.
