West Ham 2024/25

We’ve just had 4/5 years of European Football including a trophy and finishing top 6 twice - we’ve had it good under Moyes and unfortunately we’re are now hitting a big transistional stage - new manager, new coaches and staff , players ageing , end of their contracts and others just not good enough. We need a whole rebuild so will take some time and patience- sadly in todays world fans don’t have that.

The problem seems to be that the transfer policy is always “also rans” who can play at a certain level but aren’t going to drag the team over the line very often.

WHU seem to be one of those clubs that have enough decent players to not get relegated, but not enough good ones to do too much more, unless they go on a surprising run.

The fan base looks to be doing good things in the subsidized stadium, but the days of yore are so far in the rear view mirror and exciting football just doesn’t seem to exist, unless one of the “names” suddenly shows up with a flash of brilliance.

To me, they seem like one of those clubs that is a perennial 10-14th place, but can have a bad spell and be in a relegation battle for a month or two, or have a good spell and have visions of Europe for a month or two.

Moyes was an unattractive coach who did good things for a year or two, but given the relative success, just wasn’t able to get more out of it.

Whenever a series of supposedly decent coaches rotate through a club, it always leaves one with the impression that it’s not the coaches that are the problem. Whether it’s the quality of the playing staff, the behind the scenes attitudes of the players and club, or simply the direction taken by the ownership, it’s hard to know. However, my money is on an ownership that is very very happy to just take the money…and that’s their prerogative, I guess!

Fair play to Danny “Fackin” Dyer
Just read an interview where he talks about Jarrod Bowen.

If Jarrod left West Ham, the only 2 teams he would be happy for his son-in-law to join would be Real Madrid & City!

I might give that new film Marching Powder a watch now

Cheers Dan

Always follow the money and

know your place !!

Didn't I read somewhere that that was his second time crashing a high performance jalopy? Now; once I can understand. Apparently, cars of that type can be ultra responsive ner the right foot, and it wouldn't be difficult to lose control of it. But twice? Hmm. And looking at the state of the car, I doubt it was a 30mph prang. Maybe time to consider a safer car Michail?

And no other vehicles involved

Seems to have flown under the radar a bit

Glad he spoke out but he’s nowhere good enough for the Prem.
Honestly one of the worst seasons I can recall. Not feeling the Potter era, guess he deserves a full window and a fresh start next season - We was always going to struggle after what Moyes achieved and got out our ageing squad.

Like Spurs and "The World's Greatest Club"™, you are fortunate that the three promoted clubs were so woeful. A club like West Ham shouldn't be down where you are. Surely, the club will give Potter a full pre season and the summer window. He's only been in place since early January.

Yeh, they will. Just not feeling the vibe with him personally.

It's a big remainder of the year (not season) for him. The reputation he earned at Brighton, which got him the Chelsea gig in the first place, took a battering in his time at Stamford Bridge. He clearly wasn't ready for a job of that magnitude. This is a chance for him to rebuild that reputation at what is a big club. But he needs to get off to a solid start next season. If they're struggling deep in the bottom half of the table come Christmas, I wouldn't be putting big money on him surviving the season.

Basically given a 62k stadium for free. Crazy deal

Someone was going to get it.

British athletics and the government really did not think it through long term regarding that stadium.

We were in the same boat pretty much with the COMS.

Athletics just isn't a big enough sport to consistently attract 15-20k let alone 60k for meetings outside of the World Championships, Commonwealth games or Olympics.
