You don't have a clue what the manger is thinking. Disagreeing with his selection is one thing, but
intimating that he has ulterior motives, is pure guesswork.

We've gone with a full strength team in a dead rubber, it hardly takes a genius to guess the motive. He's number one priority is clearly trying to win this game. Sorry if it's sacrilege to prefer to experiment a bit and try and learn something new

Except he actually did play football before arriving here so I absolutely can speak to his ability to play in tight space, ghosting in the box etc etc. He's a natural number 10 and always has been, just like Dave was before last year. Yes he can do an excellent job on the wing, just like Dave did earlier in his career, but he has all the same attributes Dave has. Whether he can play as a CM, I don't know, just as I didn't know that Dave or De Bruyne could until they played there, but he absolutely can play centrally in midfield and the only way we will find out how effectively he can do that for us is actually giving him a go instead of forcing him to stand way out on the touchline to make space inside for everyone else.

He's never played CM(apart for us when we went down to 10 vs Everton).. May have played a few games at CAM/CF for Monaco but he is a winger. I don't get why people don't understand this. If he was a CM that'd be where he played and despite ample opportunity PEP GUARDIOLA doesn't play him there EVER. He plays RW as he does for Portugal as he did for Monaco and as he will for the foreseeable future.
